Artifact Sets
- 4pc Noblesse Oblige is a great Artifact Set as it provides a buff for his team and increases his own Burst DMG
- 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate can help get his Burst back super easily
- 4pc Gilded Dreams can work in Melt teams, Unfinished Reverie can work in Burn/Melt teams
- Otherwise, you can do a flexible 2pc Set Mix: Noblesse / Blizzard Strayer / Emblem / ATK / EM Sets
Main Stat & Substats
- ATK % Sands is the main one you will be going for. ER Sands if you want to get his Burst back faster
- EM Sands and substats are preferred in Melt teams
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Wolf's Gravestone - Increases Chongyun's ATK % significantly, Passive gives the team an ATK % buff
- Luxurious Sea-Lord - Limited-time Event weapon with ATK % substat. Passive that increases his Burst DMG and deals extra ATK % damage
- Tidal Shadow - Craftable that provides ATK %
- Sacrificial Greatsword - ER substat, allows his A4 Passive to activate early
- Favonius Greatsword - Another ER substat option that can help provide Energy to the entire team
TEAM COMPS
Melt
- Pyro: Bennett is the main option here. You can also use other options like Xiangling and/or Mavuika
- Flex: Choose two
- Xiangling and Xingqiu (creates National)
- Zhongli, Albedo, Chiori (Geo Resonance)
- Cryo: Kaeya or Rosaria (Cryo Resonance)
- Other: Emilie for Burn/Melt, Anemo VV Holder, Xilonen
Freeze
- Cryo-Infused DPS: Kaeya, Rosaria
- Hydro: Furina, Kokomi, Ayato, Barbara, Yelan, Xingqiu, Mona
- Anemo VV Holder/Xilonen
Mono Cryo - Shenhe / Cryo / Flex
- Cryo DPS: Add Ayaka, Wriothesley, Ganyu as they can appreciate the Cryo RES Shred from his A4 Passive
- Flex: Shielder (Layla, Lan Yan, Diona, Zhongli), Anemo VV Holder, Xilonen
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
