BUDGET XIANYUN GUIDE
SUMMARY
Xianyun is a 5-Star Catalyst Support character who can heal the Party as well as increase Plunge DMG of the active character. Currently, this is great for Xiao, GaMing, and Varesa.
She also enables other characters with high Plunge DMG Scaling (like Diluc, Razor, Beidou) or characters with Elemental Infusion (Hu Tao, Ayaka) & Catalyst users to try interesting Plunge gameplay!
TALENT & ASCENSION MATERIALS
Xianyun leveled to 80/80. You can ascend her to 80/90 for the ATK % Ascension stat if you like

Artifact Sets
- In general, 4pc Viridescent Venerer is a great set if you have an Elemental DMG dealer on the team, but in a Triple Anemo team, Xianyun is better off running 4pc Noblesse Oblige (another general Support set)
- Alternatives: 4pc Ocean Hued Clam is an option that can increase Xianyun's personal DMG. 4pc Song of Days Past can increase the active character's DMG dealt based on her healing. 4pc Scroll of Cinder City if no one else can hold it effectively and VV/Noblesse are already held by others
Main Stat & Substats
- She will also need a fairly hefty amount of ER to Burst consistently, so an ER Sands/Weapon and any substats are generally appreciated. Without her Burst in play, Xianyun cannot heal the team nor increase their Plunge DMG.
- As much ATK % and Flat ATK as you can for Xianyun (no more than 4500 ATK for maximum Plunge DMG increase), without sacrificing her ER requirements.
- Keep in mind that any ATK Buffs like Bennett's Burst or 4pc Noblesse Oblige Artifact Set Bonus can help her build a bit more ATK
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Oathsworn Eye (Event Weapon) is a really great option for her with an ATK % substat and ER Passive. The best F2P option if you played during this Event!
- Favonius Codex is also a great weapon since it helps generate Energy !
- Not as recommended as above weapons, but also usable:
- ATK % Weapons: Flowing Purity (Craftable), Skyward Atlas, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
- ER Weapons: Hakushin Ring (good in Electro comps), Prototype Amber (Craftable), Ballad of the Boundless Blue (Event)
- TTDS - Great general 3-Star Support weapon that increases the ATK % of the next active character!
TEAM COMPS
- Xianyun can be slotted in as a general teamwide healer and works especially great with Furina
- Ideal Plunge teammates: Xiao, GaMing, Varesa
- Elemental Infusion: Diluc, Hu Tao, Arlecchino, Ayaka, Navia, Arataki Itto, Keqing
- Chongyun can enable Cryo Sword/Polearm/Claymore characters to be infused with Cryo, Candace for Hydro, and C6 Bennett enables Pyro Infusion for others.
- Catalyst users! Yanfei, Wriothesley, Neuvillette, Klee, and possibly Heizou come to mind since they are likely to have leveled up their NA talent!
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
