BUDGET KAMISATO AYATO GUIDE
SUMMARY
Ayato is a 5-Star Sword DPS character who is typically used in an on-field playstyle! His main source of personal damage is typically his Hydro-Infused NAs (after using Skill). His Burst also allows him to be a great off-field Hydro applicator. He can be used in a variety of different teams as well
TALENT & ASCENSION MATERIALS
Leveled to 90/90 for extra CRIT DMG % and Max HP. His converted NAs' talent damage is based on the level of his Skill, so you can leave his NA unleveled

ARTIFACTS
Artifact Sets
- Sets like 4pc Heart of Depth, 4pc Gladiator's Finale, 4pc Echoes of an Offering, and 4pc Nymph's Dream are great since they can either boost his ATK % or Hydro DMG % and they also increase his NA DMG in some way!
- The first two sets are recommended over farming the Echoes or Nymph set as their Domains are not very resin efficient to farm. Echoes set is also commonly known as the Ping set, which essentially means it's 4pc effect works best at low ping, so I would not recommend this set to everyone
- 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate is great for Burst DPS Ayato since that build requires more focus on ER stats
- 4pc Thundering Fury can also be good for Electro-Charged team comps!
Main Stat & Substats
- Ayato scales more off of ATK % than HP %, so ATK % Sands is preferred over HP % Sands
- You can also choose to use an ER Sands mainly for his Burst DPS play style rather than as an on-field DPS
WEAPON OPTIONS
- CRIT Weapon Options
- Black Sword - Great Battle Pass weapon for Ayato since the Passive increases NA DMG
- Harbinger of Dawn - 3 Star Weapon, beginner friendly too! Passive gives CRIT Rate if Ayato has over 90% HP
- ATK % Weapon Options
- Calamity of Eshu - Event weapon that increases NA DMG and CRIT Rate when shielded
- Lion's Roar - Great weapon option in Electro-Charged teams!
- Finale of the Deep - Craftable. Passive can grant Ayato extra ATK % if you can heal/remove the Bond of Life
- Kagotsurube Isshin - F2P Story Quest Weapon! Passive: NAs increase ATK % and can do a bit of AOE DMG
- ER Weapons are good for Burst Ayato - Skyward Blade, Favonius Sword
TEAM COMPS
Ayato can be used in a variety of teams, either on-field or off-field
- Vaporize - Typically works great with Bennett and Xiangling. Emilie enables Burn/Vape
- Soup - Similar to Vaporize, but you have an off-field Electro character like Fischl, Beidou, Ororon, Yae Miko, etc. I think people now call this OverVape
- Electro-Charged with 2 off-field Electro units
- Freeze - Can be used either off-field with Burst build or somewhat on-field with consistent Cryo application
- Cryo DPS Options: Ayaka, Wriothesley, Rosaria, Kaeya, Freminet
- Cryo Support: Escoffier, Citlali, Ganyu, Rosaria, Kaeya, Shenhe, Charlotte, Diona, Layla, Mika
- Mono Hydro + Flex: Xingqiu, Yelan, Furina, Kokomi
- Burgeon (usually with Thoma), Hyperbloom, Bloom (either on-field or off-field)
- Flex Slots (can be applied to many of Ayato's team comp options!): Anemo VV, Xilonen, Zhongli, Chiori/Albedo, Citlali, Furina, Yun Jin for extra NA DMG, Mika for extra ATK SPD
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 90/90 (for additional CRIT DMG Bonus/HP) & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- Potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
