BUDGET XINGQIU GUIDE
SUMMARY
Xingqiu is great 4-Star Sword off-field DPS character who is coveted in various team comps. He is really great at off-field Hydro application (primarily single-target) and works with most DPS characters (that primarily use their NAs to deal damage). Xingqiu is very versatile in the different reactionary team comps he can fit in, making him one of the best 4-Star characters to invest in, if you haven't already!
TALENT & ASCENSION MATERIALS
He can be ascended to 80/90 for extra ATK % or leveled further for higher Lunar-Charged DMG (with the introduction of Ineffa)

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate is his BIS set, as you can build the ER he wants and increase his Burst DMG through it
- 4pc Noblesse Oblige is another great Support set for ATK scaling DPS characters (if no one else is holding it)
- Mixing 2pc sets (Emblem / ATK / Hydro DMG) can be equipped temporarily while farming for a 4pc Emblem set
Main Stat & Substats
- Prioritize ER as he has a high cost, but extremely useful, Burst
- If you're using an ER Weapon, ATK % Sands is preferred - otherwise an ER Sands is recommended for Xingqiu to Burst consistently
- After ER, focus on increasing Xingqiu's personal damage through CRIT and ATK % substats
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Sacrificial Sword / Favonius Sword - Great 4-Star weapons as it provides ER substat and a great passive
- Other ER Substat Options: Skyward Blade, Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (Fishing), Sapwood Blade (Craftable, Passive more suited in Dendro team comps), Skyrider Sword (3-Star)
- ATK % Options:
- Amenoma Kageuchi - Craftable, Passive that helps regenerate Energy
- Finale of the Deep - Craftable, Passive can grant a lot of ATK as well and is best with a consistent healer on the team
- Wolf-Fang - Battle Pass Weapon with CRIT Rate substat. Passive can increase Skill/Burst DMG as well as its' CRIT Rate
TEAM COMPS
Xingqiu is a highly-desirable 4-Star in most team comps due to his Hydro application abilities, these include Reactions like: Vaporize, Nilou Bloom, Electro or Lunar-Charged, Hyperbloom, Quickbloom, Burgeon, Soup or OverVape, etc.
While he can be used in Freeze teams, he isn't the most ideal an AOE Hydro applicator is more preferred.
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
