BUDGET YELAN GUIDE
SUMMARY
Yelan is a 5-Star Bow DPS character who is really great at off-field Hydro application/attacks through her Burst and buffing teammates through her A4 Passive. She can fit in many different team comps as a flex unit. People typically compare her and Xingqiu, as their role in the team is very similar.

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate is definitely her BIS as it helps with her Energy Recharge requirements and increases her own Burst DMG by incentivizing her to build more ER
- A temporary 2pc Set option is a mix of ER, Burst DMG, HP%, and Hydro DMG. This can allow you to build her a bit easier with the pieces you currently have and possibly adjust a bit based on the stats you have
Main Stat & Substats
- How much ER you want to build can depend on if Yelan is the only Hydro character on the team (or if Raiden is on the team). If you can build enough ER through artifact substats and her weapon, then go for the HP % Sands
- Hydro DMG Goblet is the a good general choice to go with. HP % Goblet can be an option your team has DMG buffers like Raiden/Kazuha, etc.
- Energy Recharge and CRIT substats are really important. ER so you can have your Burst up consistently and CRIT so Yelan can deal damage consistently
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Favonius Warbow is likely her best 4-Star weapon as it provides ER substat as well as Energy Particles when Yelan CRITs
- Worse ER options: Sacrificial Bow and Fading Twilight (Event)
- Some other obtainable weapon options are:
- Stringless - Weapon Passive increases Elemental Skill and Burst DMG
- 3-Star CRIT options: Slingshot, Sharpshooter's Oath
- HP % Weapons: Sequence of Solitude (Event), Recurve Bow (3-Star)
TEAM COMPS
- Yelan can be a Hydro character in almost any team comp, especially those that involve Hydro Reactions (Vaporize, Hyperbloom, Bloom, Electro-Charged, Overvape / Soup, Freeze), as long as the Main DPS can trigger her Burst
- She runs very well in Double Hydro with Xingqiu or Furina - Can also play her in a Mono Hydro comp
- Overall, a really great unit to pick up due to her strong abilities, with Hydro off-field DPS capabilities, Hydro Application, flexible team options, and buffing capabilities !
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 90/90 (for additional CRIT Rate) & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- Potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
