✎ Introduction: Mona's Burst

Burst name : Stellaris Phantasm

|| Mona will do 2 things: Illusory Bubble & Omen

|| Both the bubble and Omen will activate at the same time

Only when the bubble pop you will get the damage

To simplify Mona's burst,

|| Bubble = immobilize small enemies, if the bubble pop = damage

|| If you attack enemy with Omen effect = higher damage

If you attack the enemy, it can also pop the bubble (instead of waiting 8 seconds for the bubble to explode by itself)

If you pay close attention, you can see that the enemy have hydro aura (after Mona burst animation)

Mona will apply wet 2x

|| After the burst animation

|| After the bubble exploded / popped

|| So, why Mona will apply wet 2x?

Why the first Vaporize deal no damage at all?

If there is a reaction during Mona's burst animation,

MONA WILL BE THE TRIGGER CHARACTER

First, let me explain about trigger character in case someone still not familiar with this term

(Imma borrow my old guide that I've posted in reddit a year ago)

Elemental reaction damage entirely scales from the trigger character's attribute (Elemental Mastery, Level, etc)

Same goes with Mona's burst, the bubble damage also rely on the trigger character.

You can make Mona as the trigger character, or you can make the pyro character as the trigger character.

It all depends on your playstyle

🌠PYRO > MONA BURST > PYRO

"If there is a reaction during Mona's burst animation, Mona will be the trigger character"

What happened here:

|| 1. Bennett burst to apply pyro + buff Mona

|| 2. Mona burst animation trigger reaction

|| 3. Mona become the trigger character

|| 4. Any pyro attack to trigger 2nd vaporize

|| 5. Bubble exploded = x2 Vaporize damage bonus

|| Remember, Omen also increase damage

Pay close attention when the bubble exploded, hydro aura is on the left (meaning Mona is indeed the trigger character here)

In step 4, you need to apply pyro 1 more time

Otherwise when the bubble exploded, there's only Mona's hydro attack

No pyro + hydro = no vaporize

As you can see here, instead of almost 200k vape burst damage, it's only 74k damage.

This is the rule of thumb about Mona's vape bubble burst:

|| The first Vaporize during burst animation is only there to make Mona the trigger character

|| The 2nd Vaporize (the bubble exploded) is where you will get the Vape burst damage

You can always increase the damage by:

adding EM boost from Sucrose /

Viridescent Venerer 4 set artifact (hydro shred) /

Zhongli shield (res shred) /

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (ATK buff) /

Any other buff that you can think of for your Mona

🔥PYRO CHARACTER as the trigger

If you can already predict how to make pyro character as the trigger, then congratz!

At this point you already understand Mona's burst mechanic thoroughly.

Here, let me show you the pyro aura on the left, meaning the pyro character be the trigger character

What happened here:

|| 1. Bennett burst only to buff Mona's burst damage (for consistency)

|| 2. Mona burst didn't trigger any reaction

|| 3. Mona will not be the trigger character

|| 4. Once Bennett trigger the vaporize, Bennett will get 1.5x reverse vaporize damage bonus (and Omen increased damage too)

Bennett's pyro damage from 3,3k (in pyro > mona > pyro clip) increased into 5,2k

Would you use Mona as the trigger or your pyro character as the trigger?

|| It's will be 2x bonus damage if Mona is the trigger and only 1.5x bonus damage if pyro character is the trigger.

With that, I'd lean over Mona because it is "slightly easier" to reach higher damage because of that multiplier
