It's funny MiHoYo seems to get the branding thing in game but they haven't really done a good job with their own. 
Ok enough picking on them. Let's talk Fontaine and capitalism haha.
Last time I was talking about Fontaine in terms of the corrupt court system of the God of Justice. From this other information though there's a commercialization and gambling side to the region too.
In terms of how Patrice talks about branding it's very familiar to us. Often time we're being peddled with just a name and not an actual quality product. For example did you guys know the term "superfood" is pure marketing?
It was coined by the United Fruit Company back in 1920 as a way to sell more bananas. You know bananas. Chock full of potassium. We all know that "fact" because of this campaign but you can actually get more potassium from watermelons or even cashews. And it's the same story with any other superfood you've ever been told you have to eat.
In a more direct 1-1 with Patrice's hustle I'm thinking those health bands that were all the rage for a while. Imagine instead of "magnetic resonance" these companies peddled "Vibro-Crystal Harmonics."
So that's capitalism. Now let's talk about the gambling aspect to Fontaine. According to Patrice the people of Fontaine are willing to risk losing their lives on their business ventures because if they succeed then they end up making out on it.
What I think it actually means is that he'll have his successful enterprise and instead of being a typical citizen he'll become part of the aristocracy. In pre-revolution France that was how you become untouchable. I talked about the harsh punishments doled out to ordinary people in the corrupt system. Well if you're part of the upper class you instead end up getting off easy if you're even found guilty to begin with.
