Lohen is a 5-star Cryo Polearm character who functions as a high-tempo, reaction-enhanced on-field DPS built around his unique “Masterstroke” state. His kit revolves around building momentum through “Will to Win” and “Joy,” which empower his special Skill cycle and amplify both his personal Cryo damage and coordinated burst windows.
His gameplay centres on entering Masterstroke mode via his Elemental Skill, Unforeseen Strike, where he transitions into a more aggressive combat state with access to enhanced Skill usage and rapid offensive loops. In this state, Lohen consumes accumulated resources to unleash Etched Into Bone and Soul, a powerful multi-hit Cryo attack that scales heavily with both his own stats and the support provided by his teammates through “Will to Win” generation.
In addition to his personal damage, Lohen benefits significantly from team contribution mechanics. Allies actively generate Will to Win by dealing damage, effectively turning the entire party into a scaling engine for his burst potential. This makes him highly synergistic with fast-hitting sub-DPS units and reaction enablers who can rapidly build his resource meter.
How Lohen Helps:
- High Burst DPS Scaling: Converts accumulated Will to Win into massive Cryo burst damage.
- Sustained Masterstroke Damage: Enhanced Skill state enables repeated high-damage Cryo attacks.
- Team-Driven Resource System: Allies actively contribute to his damage scaling through Will to Win generation.

Ability Notations
- N - Normal Attack
- C - Charged Attack
- E - Elemental Skill
- Q - Elemental Burst
E.g. E2NCEQ - Elemental Skill (E) followed by two Normal Attacks (2N) and a Charged Attack (C), then an Elemental Skill (E) and Elemental Burst (Q).

Freeze
Cryo + Hydro
Freeze teams revolve around locking enemies in place through consistent Cryo and Hydro application, allowing Lohen to safely build and spend his Masterstroke resources. In these teams, Lohen acts as the primary on-field Cryo DPS, converting sustained Freeze uptime into uninterrupted damage windows where he can fully stack Will to Win and maximise his Elemental Skill and Burst cycles.
Alternate Freeze teams could have a composition of:
- Lohen - Furina - Mona - Citlali
- Lohen - Xingqiu - Mona - Mika
Below is an example of a Freeze team with Lohen as the Main DPS, Furina and Mona as the Sub DPS', and Escoffier as the Support.

Below is an example of a Freeze team with Lohen as the Main DPS, Shenhe and Sucrose as the Sub DPS', and Kokomi as the Support.

Below is an example of a F2P Freeze team with Lohen as the Main DPS, Xingqiu and Sucrose as the Sub DPS', and Diona as the Support.

Melt
Cryo + Pyro
Melt teams focus on amplifying Lohen's already high burst ceilings through Melt reactions triggered during his Masterstroke damage windows. In these compositions, Lohen acts as a high-impact on-field DPS who alternates between building Masterstroke resources and detonating them through Melt-enhanced Skill and Burst windows. Because Melt scales heavily with individual hit damage, these teams reward precise rotation timing and strong buff alignment.
Alternate Melt teams could have a composition of:
- Lohen - Durin - Prune - Nicole
- Lohen - Durin - Albedo - Nicole
- Lohen - Mavuika - Citlali - Nicole
Below is an example of a Melt team with Lohen as the Main DPS, Durin and Citlali as the Sub DPS', and Nicole as the Support.

Below is an example of a F2P Melt team with Lohen as the Main DPS, Xiangling and Sucrose as the Sub DPS', and Bennett as the Support.

Damage Showcase
Here is a showcase on how to use the first Freeze team composition presented in this guide, containing Lohen, Furina, Mona, and Escoffier.
We begin by preparing with the support characters. Furina's Elemental Skill (E) then Elemental Burst (Q), Escoffier's Elemental Skill (E) then Elemental Burst (Q), and Mona's Elemental Skill (E), Elemental Burst (Q), then 4 Normal Attacks (4N).

We can then swap in Lohen. Using his Elemental Skill (E) activates Masterstroke mode, allowing him to begin accumulating and spending resources through his enhanced combat state. Follow this with two Normal Attacks (2N) and a Charged Attack (C), which efficiently build Joy while taking advantage of Masterstroke's enhanced attack strings. We then use Lohen's special Elemental Skill (E), Etched Into Bone and Soul, to consume accumulated resources and deal a powerful instance of Cryo DMG. Once this attack lands, immediately use his Elemental Burst (Q), Manifest Judgment, to consume all accumulated Will to Win and unleash a high-damage finishing sequence.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- High Burst Damage Ceiling: Lohen can convert accumulated Will to Win into extremely powerful Skill and Burst damage, giving him excellent burst potential during his Masterstroke windows.
- Unique Team Scaling Mechanic: Teammates actively contribute to his damage through Will to Win generation, allowing the entire party to directly enhance his output.
- Strong Cryo Reaction Synergy: Performs well in Freeze and Melt teams, benefiting from both reaction utility and reaction-based damage amplification.
- Consistent On-Field Presence: Masterstroke mode provides extended periods of uninterrupted field time, allowing Lohen to act as a reliable primary DPS.
- Hexerei Synergy: Gains additional Normal and Charged Attack damage through Hexerei: Secret Rite, increasing his sustained damage during Masterstroke.
Cons
- Rotation-Dependent: A significant portion of Lohen's damage comes from properly managing Masterstroke, Joy, and Will to Win. Mistimed abilities can noticeably reduce his output.
- Relies on Team Contribution: His damage ceiling is tied to teammates generating Will to Win, meaning weaker or slower supports can reduce his overall effectiveness.
- Limited Burst Windows: Much of his damage is concentrated into specific Masterstroke sequences, making execution more important than on many traditional carries.
- Can Lose Value in Short Encounters: Enemies that die before Masterstroke is fully utilised may prevent Lohen from reaching his maximum damage potential.
- Masterstroke Downtime Exists: Outside of his enhanced state, Lohen's damage output is noticeably lower, making proper rotation planning important for maintaining DPS.
