About Edge of Survival
Edge of Survival is a challenging end-game mode where players must fight through powerful Shadow Realms to earn rewards and achieve a high score. There are three different Shadow Realm stages available, each featuring intense combat encounters that must be completed within a limited amount of time.
The final score is determined by several factors, including the number of enemies defeated, the time taken to complete the stage, and the difficulty modifiers applied during the challenge. Defeating enemies also grants additional time, while any remaining time after defeating the final enemy is converted into bonus points at a rate of 1,000 points per second. The challenge ends when all enemies have been defeated or the timer reaches zero.
Access Location
Select the Train Icon on the Snezhnaya Map. You can choose Go to the Shooting Range to enter directly, or travel to the Train first and use the Shooting Range Portal inside the train.

Difficulty Levels
Edge of Survival features four difficulty tiers, with each one increasing enemy strength while providing a higher score multiplier:
- Normal : Levels 1–2, no additional multiplier
- Advancing : Levels 3–5, 2.5× Score and 2.0× Enemy HP
- Hard : Levels 6–8, 5.0× Score and 3.0× Enemy HP
- Extreme : Level 9, 10× Score and 4.5× Enemy HP
*Extreme Mode requires players to first obtain at least 300,000 points from a lower difficulty before it becomes available.
Stage Access and Checkpoints
Each stage can be accessed by entering its corresponding Shadow Realm in Snezhnaya. Completing an Edge of Survival stage also unlocks the World Quest the Shooting Range and the Deep Shadow Realm, which serves as the tutorial for this game mode.
During the challenge, Prime Ice cannot be used, and each ammo box can only be activated once. If a player is defeated, they will return to the most recently unlocked checkpoint. Enemies that were already defeated remain defeated, but any surviving enemies will have their HP completely restored. Careful time management and efficient enemy elimination are therefore essential for achieving a high score.

Enter the Edge of Survival through the portal at the Shooting Range. To unlock additional stages, you must first complete the corresponding Shadow Realm challenges located throughout Snezhnaya.
Recommendation
- Obtain all available weapons to expand your attack options and create more varied combat combinations. Each weapon has its own unique attack patterns, strengths, and characteristics, allowing you to adapt your playstyle to different enemies and situations. Having access to every weapon also gives you more flexibility when choosing the most effective combination for each challenge.
- Ashamez's Thunder can be obtained by reaching Shadow Realm Vault Access Card Level 3.
Weapon Options
- Complete all Shadow Realms to increase your Stamina. Clearing these challenges allows you to gradually improve your Stamina capacity, giving you more freedom to perform actions during combat. A higher Stamina limit can also make it easier to maintain your movement and attack patterns, especially during longer and more difficult Edge of Survival challenges.
- Collect Shadow Wingdrops to increase the Shadow Realm Analyzer level.

- Craft all available tiers of Weapon Accessories to maximize your weapon customization options. Accessories can provide better enhancements and allow you to further improve your weapons. Unlocking and crafting every available tier also gives you more flexibility to adjust your equipment based on your preferred playstyle and combat needs.

Difficulty Clauses
Before starting the challenge, you can choose different Difficulty Clauses to increase the strength of your opponents. These modifiers can improve their HP, ATK, combat abilities, and other attributes. Selecting more Difficulty Clauses will make the challenge harder, but it will also increase the points earned from defeating enemies.
Challenge Mechanics
Once the challenge starts, your goal is to defeat as many enemies as possible before the timer runs out. Defeating an enemy awards point and also adds extra time to the remaining challenge duration. You can earn even more points by maintaining a continuous defeat streak without letting it break.
Score & Timer
If you defeat all opponents before time runs out, you will earn bonus points based on the remaining time. The more time left when you defeat the final opponent, the higher the bonus score you will receive.
Challenge 1: Formation Breaker
Difficulty Clauses Details
- Opponents' DMG Multiplier Bonuses 40% / 80%
- Increases the DMG dealt by opponents by 40% or 80%, making them more dangerous in combat.
- Fatui Rifle Trooper firing accuracy is increased by 30%.
- Increases the firing accuracy of Fatui Rifle Troopers by 30%, making their ranged attacks more precise.
- When a Fatu Hydrogunner is defeated, they will unleash a Hydro Shockwave to deal DMG to charactes.
- When a Fatui Hydrogunner is defeated, it releases a Hydro Shockwave that deals DMG to nearby characters. Keep your distance when dealing the final shot to a Fatui Hydrogunner. Use ranged attacks from a safe distance whenever possible to avoid the Hydro shockwave, or take cover behind nearby objects to block the explosion.

- Fatui Medics will be significantly enhanced, and their Hydro abilities are converted to Electro abilities
- Fatui Medics are significantly strengthened, and their Hydro abilities are converted into Electro abilities. Be careful when fighting Fatui Medics, as their enhanced abilities can deal increased pressure during combat. Adjust your attacks accordingly and avoid staying within range of their Electro abilities for too long.

- Fatui Snipers will fire Cryo bullets instead.
- Fatui Snipers will replace their normal ammunition with Cryo bullets, causing their attacks to deal Cryo DMG. Stay mobile and avoid standing in one place for too long. Use cover or quickly close the distance to reduce the risk of being hit by their Cryo shots. Prioritize defeating Fatui Snipers first whenever they appear, as their long-range Cryo attacks can deal damage from a distance and make it harder to focus on other enemies.
Be careful—you could get frozen by the combination of the enemy's Cryo and Hydro attacks.
- Cold will accumulate during the challenge. When it reaches its maximum, characters will take continuous DMG.
- Cold will gradually build up throughout the challenge. When the Cold meter reaches its maximum, characters will continuously take DMG over time. Keep an eye on the Cold meter and avoid letting it reach its maximum. To reduce the Cold meter, move closer to the Kresnik's Torch placed around the arena. Use them regularly to prevent the meter from reaching its maximum.

- Another way to stop the Cold meter from building up is by triggering the Stellar Conduct reaction. Use this reaction during combat to help manage the Cold effect and prevent the meter from reaching its maximum.

Challenge 2: Frigid Strom
Difficulty Clauses Details
- Opponents' DMG Multiplier Bonuses 40% / 80%
- Increases the DMG dealt by opponents by 40% or 80%, making them more dangerous in combat.
- Moldering Mark: Upon defeating opponents with this mark, characters will take continuous DMG. This effect will be removed once the character defeats the next opponent.
- Moldering Mark: Defeating an opponent affected by this mark causes the character to take continuous DMG. The effect ends after the character defeats another opponent. After defeating a marked opponent, quickly defeat another enemy to remove the Moldering Mark effect and stop taking continuous DMG.

- You can see the Moldering Mark above your character's head while the effect is active. To remove it, defeat an enemy that does not have the Moldering Mark.

- Increases the DMG absorbed by Cryo Cicin Mages' Wards and the number of Cryo Cicins they summon.
- Increases the DMG absorption of Cryo Cicin Mages' Wards and increases the number of Cryo Cicins they can summon. Focus on breaking the Cicin Mage's Ward as quickly as possible to reduce its protection. Be prepared to deal with the additional Cryo Cicin while attacking the mage. Use Pyro grenades to break the shield and defeat the Cryo Cicin Mage more quickly and easily.

- Glacial Warden's Ice Coffin enhanced: Will deal AoE DMG
- Enhances the Glacial Warden's Ice Coffin, causing it to deal AoE DMG when activated. Position and lure the Glacial Warden close to you, then use grenades combined with your attacks to break its shield quickly. Once the Ice Coffin attack is triggered, move away from the affected area to avoid its AoE DMG.
Use AoE attacks to defeat them all at once.
- The attacks of the enemy boss, the "Ever-Lingering Illusion," are projectiles instead.
- The Ever-Lingering Illusion's attacks are converted into projectiles, allowing it to deal damage from a distance. Keep moving during the fight and watch for incoming projectiles. When the boss first appears, it will fire a laser that can be avoided by dodging or taking cover behind nearby objects. Also, watch for the boss when it starts gathering energy. Attack the Anemo Orb to interrupt and cancel its deadly attack.

- Fatui Hydrogunner Legionnaires and Cryogunner Legionnaires will periodically restore their HP during combat. Prioritize defeating Fatui Hydrogunner Legionnaires first. Focus your attacks on them and defeat them quickly before they have a chance to restore their HP.

- Fatui Pyroslinger will continuously throw enhanced grenades that deal greater DMG.
- Fatui Pyroslingers will continuously throw enhanced grenades that deal increased DMG. Keep moving during combat and watch for incoming grenades. Avoid staying in the same area for too long to reduce the chance of being hit by their attacks. Attack the Fatui when the indicator appears to cancel this attack.

The Fatui Pyroslinger throws grenades continuously
- After Fatui Vanguards are defeated, they will leave lightning strikes that will deal continuous DMG to characters.
- When Fatui Vanguards are defeated, they leave behind lightning strikes that continuously deal DMG to characters within the affected area. After defeating a Fatui Vanguard, quickly move away from the area where the lightning strikes appear to avoid taking continuous DMG.

Frontrunner's Edge
Every challenge stage features a Frontrunners' Edge leaderboard, allowing you to compare your score and performance with your friends and other Travelers.
Rewards
By collecting Edge of Survival Medals from each challenge, you can claim various rewards, including Shooting Accessories, Avatar Frames, and upgraded Cape Accessories. Collect a total of 12 medals to claim all the rewards.
Below are the rewards obtained by reaching the maximum achievement, along with a comparison showing their appearance before and after use.
