Hi beginners, welcome to my guide! I am not a player who started to play Honkai Impact 3rd since the day it was established but after 1 year and a half, including a lot of research into this wonderful and addictive game. I would be proud to say that my knowledge about honkai is really reliable!

So, let’s begin!
INTRODUCTION
After following some instructions from Ai-chan, you may soon find out the layout on the bridge is pretty complicated.
As you can see, the character in the middle can be interacted by tapping the bubble icon which increases the loveliness of her to you!

Fun fact: Interacting with her long enough can buff her stats a little bit in a limited time, take your time!
STARTER’S EVENT

This is where you should concentrate at the most as it contains appropriate missions for beginners to follow and adapt to the game step-by-step along with awesome rewards![emoji]
As your level increases, you can play more stages in [Daily Prep] and claim even more amazing rewards from [Level-up Sprint]![emoji]
Also some more attractive deals for you guys! Take your chance if possible!
Tap the [Attack] button leads you to a variety of game modes including Story mode and events!
[emoji] ATTACK [emoji]
Open world: where you can choose to join one of the 3 wonderful worlds to explore and enjoy their unique story. Adventure tasks also provide lots of materials with a little chance to earn crystals! Be sure to play it gradually!

Story: enjoy the story of Honkai and collect character’s fragments. This is one of the most effective way to earn crystals and EXP for you guys, Starters! Be sure to take your time and complete it as soon as possible!

Co-op raid: unlock at lvl 35, you will soon have an opportunity to cooperate with friends and other players to complete multiple raids and claim a lot of materials each week. First time clearing can earn divine key for each different raid! Amazing!

Chronicles: Similar to [Story] but it also provides pretty powerful gears for beginners!
Material Event: Another material supply for you guys, try to complete it on a daily basis.
[emoji] CHALLENGE [emoji]
Q-singularis/Dirac Sea (Abyss): Unlock at lvl 25 (CRYSTAL! CRYSTAL! CRYSTAL!)
Schedule: Mon-Wed, Fri-Sun.
About it: Divided into mutiple difficulties, of course the rewards are marvelous as the hardness increases! You have to fight with bosses, faster clearing means higher scores! Players are forced to put in a group and compete each other... Feeling nervous? Don’t worry, just upgrade your gears and valkyries, try to pull gacha wisely (later I will talk about) and you will be fine!
Reward: Mainly crystals!
Memorial Arena: Unlock at lvl 38
Schedule: Tue-Sun.
About it: Another boss fight activity with ranking system! It contains 3 bosses a time, can’t use the same gears and valkyries to fight against other bosses
Reward: Mainly materials, especially: Ancient Willpower to purchase S-rank Valkyries fragments!

Invites of Mirage: Unlock at lvl 28
Schedule: Forever!!! (everyday)
About it: By choosing to cooperate with another Captain or by self, you have to join the battles which are divided into stages with different difficulties and rewards. Choose your appropriate stage to challenge! Tickets to join the battle are provided everyday so there will be a limit of time to participate, be sure to play it on a daily basis!
Reward: It provides materials to craft POWERFUL GEARS! Don't forget to play it!!

Trial Play: Try new outfits for free!

Mostly when there is a new version update. There will be an event for everyone, just like Outworld Quest! Play to enjoy these amazing side-stories and earn a lot of crystals along with some event exclusive items!

Sim battle: Join the armada and play it gradually to earn materials!
[emoji]VALKYRIES (valks)[emoji]
Basic knowledge:
Base B-rank: only for beginning phase, not effective for end-game.
Base A-rank: farmable, really useful for newbies. Can deal high damage and support DPS. Try to rank up those valkyries to a higher rank as soon as possible!
Base S-rank: Hard to farm fragments or cannot, those valkyries are mostly the key to win the game. High DPS along with reliable supporters. The majority of them are from gacha!

Type Counter:
PSYCHIC | MECHA | BIOLOGIC | QUANTUM | IMAGINARY
*Quantum and Imaginary counter there own type!
Really easy to remember, right?
Tips: Use the Valk that counter the enemies' type to improve your performance!
Damage types:
[Elemental DMG includes Fire, Ice, Lightning DMG]
Battle style:
There are usually 1 Damage dealer (DPS) and 2 Supporters for 1 team. For beginners, try to complete your damage dealers first, focusing on supporters later, pushing the potential of your DPS even further!

*Farmable: Collect fragments from expeditions!
*Core: Unlock at level 30, enhancing the battlesuit into a whole different playstyle (more useful, powerful and enjoyable!)
*Asterite shop: Recommend to buy Haxxor Bunny, Starlit Astrologos or Fischl first based on your team Damage type!
*Shop: War Treasury (Tip: Play [Memorial Arena] to earn [Ancient Willpower] to buy fragments!)
REMINDER: These Valks are just from [Shops] or [Dorm/Starter Supply] which are familiar to Starters. If you obtained any base S-rank Valkyrie from [Expansion Supply] and [Expa Select], that would be awesome! They are GREAT valkyries to bring into the battles!

Weapon/Stigmata: Boost the valkyries’ stats and the damage output while affecting playing styles.
A huge quantity of weapons and stigmas can be forged by materials! Farmable and powerful, why not!?
Materials/fragments: Store all of your materials along with fragments of each valkyrie!
You can also sell those for coins and other currencies. (no crystal)

This is basically where all of your crystals must be spent on, where you can challenge your luck and pull on different banners to get yourself beautiful waifus and dramatically powerful equipment![emoji]
Dorm Supply:
200 crystals/pull | S-rank valk guaranteed in 100 pulls | Tip: Shouldn’t spend crystal on this supply as you can buy the cards from the shops!
Special: The first 2 times {S-rank valk guaranteed in 25 pulls} | 2 S-rank valks within 50 pulls!? That’s impressive!
There will be a deal which costs 1500 crystals for 10 dorm Cards, save for that!
As you play more, you will receive more dorm Cards from starter events and shops, don’t spend crystal on this!
Starter supply:
280 crystals/pull | S-rank valk guaranteed in 100 pulls | Tip: Spend your crystal on this banner!
WHY?
Because both [Herrscher of Thunder] (HoT) and [Azure Empyrea] (AE) are really OP!
HoT: Base S-rank | Psy | Lightning DPS | Deal Massive damage! | Really flexible and active in battle | One of the best Damage Dealer in Honkai Impact 3rd!
AE: Base S-rank | Psy | Elemental Support (Lightning, Fire, Ice) | Dramatically flexible in lots of different stages | Support DPS, gather enemies, team SP recovery | The Best Supporter in Honkai Impact 3rd!
They are AMAZING! Go pull them!
In my view, for low lvl Captains, HoT might be better than AE because DPS is always prioritized more than Support. In addition, in a low ranking system, damage dealers are mostly on the field to clean mobs/bosses which is substancially effective and speedy, also easier to control the battle.
I recommend if you get HoT, you should pull her gear in [Special Equipment A] !
What if I get AE, you may ask. Don’t worry! Just use her in any elemental teams. Try to pull for HoT too! If you don’t have much time left on the banner, save your crystal.
Expansion/Focused Supply: 280 crystals/pull | After [Starter Supply], those Supplies are going to be the two you must pull the most. Although [Dorm Supply] provides lots of S-rank Valkyries, it doesn't contain the new S-rank Valkyries with her gears! Consequently, [Expansion Supply] and [Focused Supply] do that job!
For Expansion Supply: S-rank Guaranteed in 100 pulls | Including lots of powerful valks like HoT and AE
Each banner has a S-rank Valk as the biggest target along with some A-rank Valks
*The above image is EXPA select, similar to expansion but you can choose 1 out of 3 S-rank Valkyries to be the target!

For Focused Supply: 5 stars weapon/stigma guaranteed in 10 pulls | Providing a variety of powerful equipment, usually following the schedule of Expansion Supply for players to completely full set that valk!
The UP equipment (A weapon and a set of stigma display on the screen) has a higher chance to appear!
They have their own Schedule and each banner has its limited time to pull!

There are some other special banners! As time passes, you will easily adapt to them, now just remember Dorm Supply, Starter Supply, Expansion/Focused Supply!
ELF: Unlock at lvl 50
Only for end-game investment, don’t focus on them. Focus on your waifus instead! [emoji]
[emoji]DORM [emoji]
Bonuses: Claim coins and stamina (overflow)[emoji]
Dorm: Yes! Your dorm! Decorate it! Interact with your waifus in chibi form![emoji]
Divine key: No need to concentrate too much, little buff for valkyries. Focus on it when stronger!
Valkyries: Collect valks and complete their own trial stage, upgrade and rank up to level up your dorm to boost Valks' stats!
Expedition: Collect fragments by just waiting! Amazing!

Errands: Side missions to collect some material! More valks and higher rank can complete such high rank missions! More reward!
ARMADA
As you join an Armada, you can unlock many new features!
Armada Shop: Use [Ranger Creds] as the currency, selling lots of useful materials and also [Dorm Supply Card]!
Sim Battle: Using [Trial Battlesuit] to fight against bosses and receive [Ranger Creds].
Commissions: Contribute to your Armada by using self’s materials and earn [Ranger Creds] everyday!
Warehouse: You are lacking some materials!? Farming isn't enough!? Then go request your Armada’s members! They will help you, Captain!

Contributions: Ranking for each member's contribution, also some rewards every week!

Daily shop:
Logistics Terminal: You can buy B-rank valk fragments! Advice: shouldn’t focus too much, there might be some attractive deals but be sure to not spend crystal on it!
Exchange shop:
Exchanging 5 Stars Stigmas and Weapons
Stigma resonance (red): Use to exchange stigmas.
Earning from [Adventure Task] on a weekly basis and salvaging rare Stigmas (Gacha)
Weapon Resonance (blue): Use to exchange weapons.
Earning from salvaging rare weapons (Gacha)
Dorm shop: complete [Errands] to earn [Work Points Card] and spend here!
Supply shop: Only available when you have any SSS base A-rank valk, so no need to concentrate much!
Activity shop:
{Based on particular activities, tap on the currency on the up right corner to know the source!}
Basic Currency:
Asterite shop: Selling such important materials along with some A-rank valks’ fragments. You can only earn [Asterite] by participating in events or refining materials. Be sure to play [Material event] everyday!
Mithril shop: Selling basic materials for upgrading equipment and valks. As you grow stronger, I recommend you to buy [Time Seal Box] by [Mithril] everyday. You can earn [Mithril] by tons of ways, just play! You can also sell basic materials or use [Asterite] to exchange for [Mithril] but I do not recommend it!

Coin shop? Only basic materials, buy some if you need!
Event shop:
{Play event to buy tons of necessary materials}
Beginner shop: Recommend for you guys, buy materials in this shop to save some cash everyday.

If you are a F2P (Free to play), you can come here to buy some basic outfits!
If you are willing to pay, I highly recommend buying [Monthly Pass] as it gives tons of crystals with a really cheap price! Best deal![emoji]

Story: Keep following the mission requirements to earn rewards. Remember to tap on the [Challenge] button at the up right corner, there will be more extra missions that give Cards to GACHA!
Dailies: Daily missions, complete it everyday, Starters! It provides Crystals! Really Important![emoji]
Rewards: Literally a Battle Pass. Complete your [Dailies] and [BP Missions] missions to level up and receive a variety of materials along with crystals!
Buying [Knight BP] is also one of the best option if you are willing to pay for Honkai Impact 3rd! More and more rewards![emoji]

There are tons of them, especially at the beginning of each patch! You can check for the missions, participate in the events, finish them to earn the unique currency and buy a lot of great items from the shops! Sounds intriguing, isn't it? [emoji]
SENSEI - CADET
What is it?
A system in which Starters can find them a [Sensei] to be the instructor!
How can I find my [Sensei]?
Very simple! Just tap on the [Friends] button then [Find Sensei], you may want to introduce yourself first by editing [Personal Info]. Lastly, go apply to which Sensei you love the most! If they accept your request, well done! You are now a [Cadet]!

Can I receive any rewards?
There are missions for you to complete and earn tons of Crystals, EXPs and Dorm Supply Cards until graduating! You can also cooprate with your [Sensei] to complete some stages everyday and finish side missions.

Afterall, this guide is really long for Starters. There might also be some mistakes...But I still hope it’s useful for you guys as I also gave some advice and recommendations along the guide! [emoji]
