This is only intended as a warning to new players, or those who have not yet reached Inazuma, Ekonomiya, Sima, or another out of reach location early in the game, not to make a common mistake.
Here is a list of characters, whose ascension materials are located out of range, for an initial game, so I would not advise you to throw them in the Banners, since you will not be able to level them up, and you could find yourself stuck. .
