Today, we're taking a look at Griseo's signature stigmata set Cezanne, inspired by the French Artist Paul Cezanne, who you might have guessed is also a painter like Griseo. We'll mostly be looking at the effects of this set, how important it is for Griseo and other users.

 Background

Top 

[367 HP] + [117 ATK] + [66 DEF]

- Physical damage +15%

- When a team member casts their ultimate, the user’s physical damage increases by 27% for an unspecified short duration.

This effect has an internal cool-down of 10 seconds and cannot stack.

Middle 

[483 HP] + [199 DEF] + [8 CRT]

-The user inflicts 25% more bleeding trauma.

-When enemies are bleeding, the bleeding damage increases by 20% for 10 seconds. Cannot stack.

Bottom

[362 HP] + [79 ATK] + [66 DEF] + [16 CRT]

- Combo attacks from the user inflicts Structure Outline, which increases their total damage received by 36% for 6 seconds, with a 16 second internal cool-down.

Doing so will enhance each team member where a re-entry will clear the enhancement and extend the Structure Outline debuff by 1.5 seconds up to a maximum of 9 seconds. This can only be stacked twice.

2 Set Effect 

- Gain 1 stack when dealing bleed damage to enemies. Upon reaching 10 stacks, all stacks are cleared to deal 500% physical damage.

- Stacks are accrued every 0.3 seconds and the full stack burst of damage has a cool-down of 5 seconds. During the 5 seconds, stacks cannot be gained.

Griseo equip bonus: 

- When equipped with the Bottom piece, ultimates also inflict the Structure Outline debuff and enhance team members. When the debuff ends, it will now cause enemies to - receive total damage for another 12 seconds, effectively refreshing the duration.

After which, the Structure Outline debuff infliction enters a 20 second cool-down. 

[TLDR: this extends the bottom piece’s duration for a full rotation]

3 Set Effect

- Attack speed +35%

- After casting ultimate, inflicting damage to bleeding enemies with broken shields or without one, total damage is increased by 2% up to a maximum of 10% for 20 seconds. 

No internal cool-down, cannot stack and refreshes on subsequent activations. 

2. Importance Ranking

While we don’t have much control over which piece drops, any combination without the bottom piece is essentially worthless. 

Now where have we heard that from before? Other SP sets like Turgenev, Shuijing and Zhenyi are more or less unusable without their respective bottom pieces too. B here stands for best piece. As with some of these sets, Cezanne B can stack if multiple Valkyries are equipped with one.

Even without the 2 set effect, Cezanne better than Newton B, provided the condition is fulfilled. Both Cezanne's duration and damage vulnerability debuffs are stronger than that of Newton.

That said, Newton B is still versatile as it does not require a combo to inflict.

Anyways, Top + Bottom is slightly better than Middle and Bottom if you’re lucky and/or are planning to save crystals for other 5.8 goodies like 7 Thunders.

3. Users 

Despite how powerful this set is, Griseo is currently and possibly the only one who can make full use of this set, after all it is her signature set! Her kit pretty much leverages on the otherwise transient buffs provided by this set.

In terms of versatile, this set is versatile in that it provides to an entire element and not versatile because no one else benefits from it as much (maybe the middle piece).

Herrscher of Flamescion

If she is an SP lead support for an elemental team, I could see Cezanne B working on her as a standalone alongisde Jin Shengtan TM.

Her time fracture on combos also makes it ideal for certain scenarios.

Lightning Empress

Requires Mag-Typhoon, which enables her to instantly chain into a combo after activation. Only do so if additional damage is needed, otherwise stick to Newton B for a quick-swap playstyle.

Bleed

Valkyries without innate bleed will have to rely on external sources such as weapons or Tesla Zero's ELF, of which

I would not recommend at all.

I would not try and equip this set on a damage dealer due to the supportive nature of the set, especially since the best user is a farmable character. Moreover, physical sets are extremely accessible nowadays with a modicum of patience. 

Some sets that come to mind are:

Kafka

For charged attack users, namely Twilight Paladin and Fervent Tempo

Elysia Set 

Also charged attack users but for Elysia, Bright Knight Excelsis, Palatinus Equinox etc.

Dirac Set

Burst mode Valkyries like Herrscher of Sentience and Bright Knight Excelsis

4. Affixing

In terms of affixes for this set, it doesn’t matter too much as Griseo is mainly a support with a bit of damage up her paintbrush. 

Aiming for SP regeneration over time and SP cost reduction would be my suggestion, although based on experience, she does not struggle with SP at all due to her low cost, long duration buffs/debuffs.

ATK or Crit Damage is also fine as Griseo’s damage is serviceable~

Save your precious affix materials at all cost!

Acquisition + Resource Planning

As with every other SP Valkyries’ signature set, Griseo’s equipment banner will look something like Bastet’s from 5.6. 

To summarise, this banner will guarantee a new piece of rate up equipment every 30 rolls, meaning 120 rolls in the worst case scenario. However, getting a piece early on effectively reduces that by anywhere between 1-29 rolls! 

6. Final Thoughts

Overall, this set completely trumps its progenitor Shuijing due to the longer duration and stronger multipliers in conjunction with Griseo's innate buffs. However, against the majority of shielded bosses, Paganini and Carole are still packing a punch.

Whether or not this set is a priority is primarily dependent on whether you have a geared Carole or not as she can still handle non shielded bosses relatively well. If not, then by all means try and get Cezanne B and one other piece at the very least. I'm sure it'll physically prepare you for the ensuing disturbance surge (maybe).
