Elysian Astra Weapon Guide by Reinbex
Hey, Captains! Today we are going to be taking a look at the 4★ gacha Cross weapon, Elysian Astra, introduced in v5.8. Elysian Astra is a Physical-DMG Cross-type weapon designed for Starry Impression. In this guide, we will review the weapon’s functionalities and where it excels best at. For the sake of convenience, Elysian Astra and Starry Impression will be abbreviated to EA and SI respectively in this guide.

For 10 SP, the wielder can deploy the cross to inflict 6 Bleed Trauma (5 trauma = 1 Status Bar).
EA will inflict Physical DMG over time, but note that the “explosive paint” will not help fill SI‘s unique paint bars. The paint effects of this weapon are merely visual effects.
Deployed Cross spews out AOE Physical DMG
If SI deploys the cross, it also force-triggers her Ult-Evasion skill (if not in CD). This makes it easy for her to trigger Time Fractures and connect to her 3rd Basic ATK SEQ (SS Rank subskill)
Passively buffs wielder with a 25% TDM for Combo ATKs and Ultimates.
Only SI, SA, and IO can fully utilize this TDM buff
Meanwhile just equipping the weapon will provide a 15% team Physical DMG bonus, making EA’s team buff a lot more versatile than Zither Lament’s buff.
✦ WEAPON COMPARISON ✦
The number Physical-support 4★ Crosses are surprisingly low in diversity. EA will only be compared against Zither’s Lament, except in tests with Blood Embrace to observe the Bleeding synergy. PRI-ARMs will not be included in this guide’s tests for the non-exalted players.
Team Composition(s)
Because EA is designed for Physical support and as SI’s signature weapon, EA will be compared in two teams. One team will feature SI while the other will have Starlit Astrologos (SA). Celestial Hymn will not be testing any of the weapons because she won’t be able to utilize certain buffs that EA and ZL provide. With these tests, we’ll see how well EA performs in the hands of SI and SA,
(Note that, at the time of testing, there were a lack of "non-PRI-ARMs" to perform tests under. DPS units had to test using their PRI-ARM variants despite these tests designed for non-Exalted Captains)
Test Results
From the test results, ZL surprisingly outperformed EA in both teams. In Starlit Astrologos case, where her team had a Burst Mode DPS that ZL can provide more benefits to, the team performed better when SA was equipped with ZL as opposed to EA. However, Starry Impression’s team, which didn’t have a Burst Mode DPS, performed 3.35% better with ZL over EA.

Starry Impression (SI)
For EA, SI is the best choice of wielder. If you have the weapon, EA would synergize the most with its designated wielder given its Physical buffs and Bleed Trauma. Not to mention, the cross also triggers SI’s Ult-Evasion upon landing.

✦ Closing thoughts ✦
Elysian Astra is the signature weapon of Starry Impression. It passively provides the wielder with TDM for her Combo ATKs and Ults as well as a team Physical DMG buff. In addition, the weapon also applies Bleed Trauma and Physical DMG over time. To top it all off, if the wielder, SI, casts the weapon’s active, EA will also force-trigger her Ult-Evasion. That said, for Captains who lack PRI-ARM access, ZL is a better choice than EA. However, Captains who wish to get their hands on the PRI-ARM, Elysian Astra: Heart’s Color, are recommended to at least unlock the weapon in their glossary.
