So we're getting a new Domain each day based on these guys histories it seems.
You know originally I said that Kazuha would get some more development for his future role with Scara but then it looked like this would just be about Fischl. Now we've got a whole Domain dedicated to Kazuha. (which btw I totally missed during the preview and I didn't even realize he'd have one. Silly really. I mean why else was there a floating Alcor in the middle of wood debris?)
But I'm going to guess right now that it's still not about Kazuha. I think all of this is a set up leading us to the final day. You see it looks like we just played through some Kazuha development right? He had some personal growth. But no we already know this stuff. It's almost like we're just getting an anime mini-series about it with an end credits scene. Anime MiHoYo! 
So what I think is going on is if you guys noticed the livestream Fischl's likely not going over her supposed history as the little girl Amy who kept playing make believe. She's getting a whole outfit with an eye color change. I think it might come across during gameplay as her history or at least some kind of fantasy she wanted and ultimately she'll "admit" her real life story is bland and boring. (Because that's the story we already know.) But I think we'll notice Mona acting differently at the end even though it'll be brushed off. And why is Mona going to act differently? I still think she's here to scry for Fischl and she'll see the real story. It might even be explored in the finale since that's Mona's Domain.
So for the next few days it'll just be filler. We revisited Kazuha's story. Tomorrow we'll learn how hard it was for Xinyan to keep up with her rock and roll. But then Fischl's will be her in her castle with her new outfit. The gang will talk like this is just Fischl being crazy with her fever dreams and even Fischl doesn't remember this stuff except maybe she played make believe one time. But the details will tell the real story and give us a glimpse of who she is. Meanwhile it'll all start to clear up for Mona and lead us to her Domain. But I still don't think they'd spell it out for us this early so Mona's might focus on something else and there will be just that little hint that she knows.
In fact Fischl will likely stay in the dark about it.
And I think my theory on Oz is at play here
where he's fully committed to this whole Immernachtreich stuff. I think he's trying to remind her of who she is even if it's only a little. He's helping to crack open the door just a sliver.
And then there's the islands new lore.
Ok so they are still based on Okinawa. I say that confidently because even though in Genshin they are now explaining it as another one of Venti's landscape changes from back in the day Germany doesn't have any tropical island paradises. Especially if we're talking Holy Roman Empire Germany. We also learned back in v1.6 that these islands are far far away from "any region." Germany has none of that. But there were shipwrecked Inazumans there with lore that would eventually be revealed through a follow-up quest in Inazuma. And there are still Kazuha mats there and nobody else's. A little weird for Mondstadt lands isn't it?
That said since it was changed this is the story now. But I also find it doesn't really work with Venti's personality. I mean the squirrel tells us he just chopped off the mountain tops and sent them into the sea WITH great granddaddy squirrel hitching a ride. Venti's a little more thoughtful than that from what we've seen. Sure he acts like a carefree drunk but notice how he's always very thoughtful when it comes to the people and creatures in his care. I guess we'd just have to believe that once upon a time Venti was more careless for some reason.
What this also does though is extend the lore about the creation of New Mondstadt. Back then Musk Reef was the tallest mountain and Venti drowned it. He also carved out the area that Mondstadt exists now. So now on top of that there were apparently other mountains that Venti didn't like and so he sliced off their tops and threw them so far into the ocean that you can't even get to them anymore without literally flying there on dragons or a rocket. They're even still temporary so I'm guessing short of Snezhnayan technology (or being Japanese lol) there's almost no chance of getting there normally. We're talking middle of the Atlantic levels of far. And here we were impressed by Zhongli's rock spears. Venti's here turning mountain tops into ICBMs! 
We also now know for a fact this does take place after Irodori so I'm confused why Kazuha acted like he hadn't met Venti before. We also got both a reference to Irodori and Unreconciled Stars so my guess that they did it to not mix the details between events is wrong. So it's only more confusing but maybe it's a localization thing.
Ok now for fun because man MiHoYo knocked it out of the park.
So in Genshin apparently boats can talk. I mean I guess that works out in a way. You could consider it like a youkai possessing an inanimate object which is a thing so our Waverider being Inazuman could be the same way. (btw yes it also ties into their belief in swords with a spirit though not 100% related)
Also I hope you're all ashamed of yourselves. Every last squirrel you killed for that sweet sweet raw meat was sentient and probably screaming at you to not murder them lol

As a Mona main since the very beginning I am really interested and anxious to see what her Domain will be about. Hopefully there will be something to do with her personally and not just commentary on the others based on her scrying. I'd also love to see the "old hag" lol
