Impression: the newer the domain, the less chance to get good pieces early. I also shared the same experience. Conclusion: new domain, not worth it, especially when the sets are just new alternatives to replace old sets that can still function just fine (Xiao can still use 2 viri, 2 atk; Ayato can use 2 heart of dept, 2 atk% instead).
Tips: We will encounter similar issue like this too soon on Sumeru, when we will be farming for dendro artifact sets. The best way to minimize resin waste is by aiming for 2 set dendro dmg only. You can replace the other 2 set with either energy% (if off-field dps), or 2 atk% (if dps), or even perhaps 2 wanderer. The only dendro playables we've seen so far are 2 bow users, so using 4 wanderers you've already got is not such a bad idea at all, for the moment. Very likely you will spend the good part of next year perfecting those new dendro sets ヾ( •́д•̀ ;)ﾉ
