Elysium Realm: Upgrade Guide

In this guide, we will be looking at how to upgrade all the different features in the new Elysian Realms game mode. These upgrades are just as important to gameplay as the battles and buffs, so be sure to use them well!

Unlocking Valkyries
There are 8 different battlesuits to unlock:
1. Herrscher of Flamescion
2. Herrscher of Thunder
3. Herrscher of Reason
4. Stygian Nymph
5. Argent Knight Artemis
6. Prinzessin der Verurteilung!
7. Valkyrie Gloria
8. Ritual Imayoh

Each valkyrie requires a [Flawless Key] to unlock, and only battlesuits you already own can be unlocked. One [Flawless Key] is given every week.

Each battlesuit has its own unique set of buffs (aka Signets) from Elysia, and battle conditions (eg HoR and HoT's death immunity during burst mode is removed). Their battle progress (new difficulty unlocks) and memory fragment limits are also counted separately.

Upgrading Valkyries
Valkyrie levels can be upgraded to increase their stats, to a maximum level of 15. The level of the valkyrie outside of Elysian Realm does not matter, though higher star ranks give attack bonuses. At levels 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15, enhancements are unlocked for in-battle buffs. These improve the buffs given by Elysia.

Additionally, if the valkyrie level is higher than the recommended level for the chosen difficulty, the valkyrie will deal increased damage.
Upgrading valkyries requires the corresponding [Memory Fragment], which can be obtained from clearing Elysian Realm challenges with the corresponding character.
You can gain a maximum of 1500 of these, and this number is separate between the different battlesuits. As the description states, "You won't get more of it once there's enough for upgrades", hence the limit.

Diverging Paths
Diverging Paths is essentially a skill tree, with 4 different talent branches to choose from:
Aegis, Combat, Wealth and Feast.
Each branch has different themed buffs.
- Aegis talents buff defense, and lower damage taken.
- Combat talents buff offense, and increase damage done.
- Wealth talents increase the amount of coins obtained from enemies in Elysian Realm, which can be used
during the challenge to purchase and upgrade in-battle buffs.
- Feast talents are unique and can do things like increase damage against type-countered enemies, increase
starting SP, or allow in-battle buff choices to be rerolled.
Unlocking and levelling up talents increases the total talent level, which unlocks new support valkyries.

Unlocking and levelling up talents requires [Stone of Choice], which can be obtained by clearing Elysian Realm challenges, by upgrading Remembrance Vessels, or by completing achievements or missions. Only 3800 can be obtained through Realm challenges. Similar to [Memory Fragment], you will only get enough to upgrade everything fully, no extras.
Additionally, some talents require certain conditions to unlock.
**When a talent says to “Unlock [x] number of talents”, it means unique talents, not talent levels.**

Recommended Order:
The first 2 Feast path talents (+42% Total dmg vs type countered enemies and +50 initial SP) are very good, so I recommend getting those first.
The next goal is to get a total of 8 unique talents unlocked (6 more) in order to unlock the next group of talents. This depends on how you like to play, but I recommend 3 Combat path and 3 Wealth path.
With the next group of talents unlocked, your next goal is 16 total unique talents (8 more) to unlock the final group of talents. Once again I recommend 2 Feast path, 3 Combat and 3 Wealth.
Once you have 16 unique talents unlocked, the Wealth talent [Entombed Greed] will be unlocked. This gives 10% more Stones of Choice per challenge at level 3, which will help you level up all other talents more easily.
This is just a personal recommendation, feel free to upgrade however you wi***

Remembrance Vessels
Each Remembrance Vessel corresponds to a different Flame-Chaser. The vessels get unlocked when you find that Flame-Chaser's buff for the first time. This will happen slowly as you play more of Elysian Realm.

Levelling up Remembrance Vessels requires [Dying Kindling], which can be obtained by clearing Elysian Realm challenges. Only 800 can be obtained through Realm challenges.
Edit: I'm not entirely sure what happened, but the cap is now at 1800. This happened to me after I cleared Dangerous difficulty with 3 characters, so that could be the trigger, or it could be from an update today (Aug 21). Anyone who knows more, please share!

As you level up the Remembrance Vessels, you unlock short character cutscenes, as well as Recollections. Additionally, you are rewarded with crystals and [Stone of Choice].
In General: (Not all Vessels follow this pattern)
Lvl 2 - Unlocks a chance for the Flame-Chaser to assist you for one stage (support skill), and different Flame-Chasers have different skills
Lvl 4 - Unlocks a Remembrance Sigil (special items you can bring into Realm battles) that increases how often the corresponding Flame-Chaser's buffs appear
Lvl 8 - Unlocks a Remembrance Sigil that gives a special bonus related to the Flame-Chaser's buffs, and, when picking one of their buffs, it will be given one level higher.
Soldier's Memory, corresponding with Hua's buffs

Hua's recollections, unlocked as the vessel levels up

At higher levels, Remembrance Vessels will require certain conditions in order to level up. These conditions can be having a different Vessel at a certain level, seeing a certain story cutscene, or reaching a certain stage in the Realm challenge.
These requirements can be seen by going to the box in the top right hand corner, then checking "Remembrance Vessel".

Alternatively, you can check them by selecting "View Missions" on the Remembrance Vessel level up screen.

Miscellaneous
There are a few other features that don't improve performance in Elysian Realm, but are helpful anyways.
First is the archive. This is where all the information about Elysian Realm is stored, from the story cutscenes to character Recollections to details on in-battle buffs. Using this, you can get a quick story recap if you missed something, or you can plan out which buffs would be best for your next playthrough.

Not only that, but if you collect all of one type of buff (across all runs, not a single run), you'll be rewarded with crystals.

Secondly, the shop. As you clear Elysian Realm challenges, you will receive [Rusted Insignia]. These insignias can then be exchanged in the shop for items, including Herrscher of Reason Fragments. You can only get 1000 of these per week.

That's all the non-battle features of the new Elysium Realm system, I hope this helped! Feel free to leave any questions or suggestions in the comments below :)
