You guy's have known me long enough now so you know I've talked many times already about the hows and whys MiHoYo should give us more permanent content. But recently I've also come to understand that it doesn't matter how many times we ask MiHoYo to do that or how good our arguments are. There's a giant disconnect between what we players would like out of this game and what MiHoYo thinks we players would like out of this game.
Now some of the time they're actually right. I'm still a strong supporter of things like resin because of what it's meant for. But when it comes to endgame players I absolutely agree that limited time events and the Spiral Abyss are not enough. At the same time anything time limited is not going to be fun for casual gamers either so it misses both marks.
Labyrinth Warriors brought that topic right back to the surface for me. It's another fun thing to do in the game that's relaxed and interesting. (I actually fought the wolves and Cryo Hypostasis for the first and so far only time thanks to the event lol) If this could stick around and keep generating random dungeon paths with a bunch of fights and a boss that would be so fun. Let it be to farm things that we haven't been able to farm for for a long time like the Dust of Azoth.
On the other hand because we would have this end game stuff MiHoYo can tone it down with the events. I think that would be a relief to all the casual gamers so that playing Genshin doesn't have to be a frantic to do list to make sure we got everything. Less events means less stuff to add into the game that just gets taken away in the next patch which should help space issues too. On a developer note this would help them spend less energy on all this temporary stuff and more time perfecting the fun stuff we've accumulated along the way.
Also especially with this event I love how the story is tied into the actual event dungeon. It's just like how our Fatui Weekly Bosses have those cutscenes before their final phase. I think they could do that with any new permanent content they want to add to the game. Put the story into it and mix it with the actual activity. My old Demon's Lament idea would work really well with that.
If only MiHoYo figured all this out. Hopefully one day they will but I have a sneaking suspicion on that day we'll also get the Blessing of the Blue Moon.
