Quest Summary:
After destroying the barriers in the previous quests, we must now cleanse three more barriers in one go and defeat the avatars of defilement there. According to the information given by Hanachirusato, the three barriers are located at Chinju Forest, Araumi, and down north-east of Kamisato Estate near the shore.
Quest Steps:
1. Chinju Forest
Arriving at the Chinju Forest with the world quest [Cleansing Defilement] active will trigger a new world quest called [Tanuki-Bayashi in the Forest]. Complete this quest to obtain Ioroi's Ward, find the location of the barrier, and check off progress on the world quest [Cleansing Defilement].
The quest rewards for this quest are: Adventure EXP*250, Primoge***0, Mora*30,000, Hero’s Wit*3
Follow the route in the picture below. You’ll find a statue at the end of the stone road, approach it to start the next step of the quest.
Near the source, you’ll find a group of Hilichurls gathered here. Help defeat the Hilichurls to clear the area around the strange statue.
Once the Hilichurls have been taken cared of, speak to the statue. You’ll learn that its name is Ioroi, and it was sealed within the statue a long, long time ago by a powerful sorcerer.
To obtain the comb-shaped ward, we need to play with the three little tanukis mentioned by Ioroi; the three tanukis are called “ Shousei”, “Gyoubu Koban”, and “Kichiboushi”. The order in which you find them is fixed and cannot be changed.
“Shousei” is on the stone path of the Torii. Approach it then head southward of the road, until it transforms into a torch in the end. Light the torch with Pyro to complete the seeking.
“Kichiboushi” is near the Electroculus. You’ll see a wooden barrel on top of a rock surrounded by Hilichurls, defeat the Hilichurls and an interaction spot will pop up on the barrel. Complete the seeking by interacting with it.
“Gyoubu Koban” is on a rock slightly towards southeast. Chase it a couple of times until it turns into three torches by the river. Light all of them to complete the seeking.
Afterwards, return to Ioroi’s statue and speak to it. We’ve held up our end of its request, and it grants us the promised third ward.
Head to the location of the “barrier” and follow the guidance. You’ll head east with Kichiboushi (tanuki) from Ioroi’s place to the shore.
Place the ward and adjust the other lanterns to change the amount of magatamas and alter the connections. Adjust them as follows:
The puzzle is complete if the “Ochimusha” shows up by the Torii.
Defeat the “Ochimusha” and Hanachirusato will show up. Speak to her.
2. Araumi
Teleport to the waypoint south of Araumi and look towards the plains, you’ll spot four Electro Monuments here; Figure out the puzzles then activate the Monuments with Electro, then activate the mechanism to unlock the entrance to the ruins.
The key mechanism will appear in the deep well next to the large tree in the middle once you activate all four Electro Monuments. Enter and you’ll find 3 kitsune statues.
Use the [Memento Lens] on the 3 kitsune statues to reveal the mechanisms behind them. Activate all 3 mechanisms to unlock the stone entrance beneath you. From there, we may enter Araumi underground.
Once below, face the kitsune statue and scan it with the Memento Lens to reveal the [Thunder Sakura Bough]. Summon the Electrogranum to enter the Electro barrier behind you. Attack the sky kitsune statue with Electro attacks to obtain the ward.
Place the ward and adjust the lanterns according to the diagram. Pay attention that the two lanterns that need to be adjusted to 2 take on the form of kitsune statues, change them back into their lantern forms with the Memento Lens.

After completing the connections, return to the main prayer lantern and select [Cleanse]. Afterwards, we’ll need to defeat the “Ochimusha”.
3. Shore close to Kamisato Estate
Teleport to the Kamisato Estate waypoint and head northeast until you reach the beach. You’ll find one large and one small kitsune statuesnear a big rock.
Scan the smaller statue with the Memento Lens will reveal a sky kitsune. Hit the new statue with Electro attacks to reveal the ward.
Now that we have the ward, head east to the Waverider waypoint ** **mmon the Waverider and travel to the island to the northeast.
There’s a pit in the middle of the island where you’ll find a small kitsune statue. Scan it with the Memento Lens to reveal the entrance to a cave.
Attention: Highly concentrated Electro fills the cave and you will be affected by [Balethunder] and lose HP continuously. Don’t forget to keep picking up Electrogranum during the process to negate the damage, Travelers!
Approach the cleansing location and place the ward into the main lantern to begin the process. The solution is as follows:
#1, keep as is (2 magatama); #2, adjust once (3 magatama); #3, adjust once (2 magatama); #4, adjust three times (3 magatama)
Once the connection is set up, return to the main prayer lantern and select [Cleanse]. This time, we’ll need to defeat two “Ochimusha”.
Summary:
We have completed Part III of the Inazuma quest “Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual” and performed the cleansing ritual at 5 barrier locations. It’s now time to report back to Hanachirusato. This quest involves solving three puzzles and takes quite some time, about 40 minutes total for completion.
