[Part 1] Fontaine Archon Quest Chapter IV: Act I: Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur - Soloist's Prologue

[FONTAINE ARCHON QUEST SPOILERS] [DANGANRONPA SPOILERS]

[NEXT Quest>>] [Part 3] [NEXT Act>>]

It's time to say goodbye to Sumeru. It's changing for the better since Nahida is in charge.

Wait... so Paimon was sucked into the sea by a weird whirlpool? That's worth considering since there are a lot of 'whirls' around Teyvat. Maybe something like that is responsible for drowning Paimon? Or maybe it's just some Leyline disorder?

Anyway, we met Dehya who missed us and suggested escorting us. In the meantime, there was a Fontaine NPC who looked at us when he heard we were going to Fontaine. He's sus.

After we crossed the desert, we took a Waverider to Fontaine.

Paimon was fascinated by the industrial achievements. After a short talk, we decided to go to the locals to find some clues about the Hydro Archon.

The first thing that was weird for Paimon was a peculiar speech about the recent events. Paimon thought it was just a story, but it was something that really happened. After a short exchange of information, the Traveler noticed a girl who was about to jump into the water. It was Lynette. She was recalling the past, looking at the area under the sea. She mentioned that the sea level rose, 'swallowing the memories'. Not only that, but she also expressed her worries about being 'swallowed soon, too'. Then Lyney showed up and introduced himself and his sister.

Then we heard that there is a prophecy in Fontaine, but he didn't reveal it. He instead led us to the Opera house.

We hadn't taken many steps when the Hydro Archon appeared before us. But how did she know we were coming? It was that suspicious dude.

Furina greeted us and informed us that we had actually broken the law by releasing a 'flying object' at the wrong time; therefore, she wanted to put us on trial. Lyney interrupted by revealing that Paimon was connected with the Traveler all along. That's why he greeted the Traveler with a handshake and Paimon with a pat on the back. I did notice that and found it a little strange, but now I HAVE TO keep a close eye on Lyney.

Furina, seeing that no laws were broken, simply left. Toodle-oo~

After Furina left, Lyney gave us a bag, invited us to his performance, and... told us about the prophecy.

This prophecy states that the people of Fontaine are born with sin, and no matter how many trials are held, the sin cannot be absolved. But one day, the Fontaine water level will rise, and all sinful people will drown, leaving only the Hydro Archon remaining, sitting and crying on her throne. This will be the moment when the sin will be washed away. I believe this prophecy is as important as "...the world... forget me" in Sumeru.

But I also have a feeling that Lyney might be lying about the prophecy. He seems like a friend, but I don't really trust him. What if he ends up saying the same thing as Kokichi in DNGV3-CH3: "It's a lie!"

Getting back on track, what is 'sin'? There are speculations like: people stole the power of the sea or offended Celestia in some way.

Then we went to give some people those magic pockets I called 'bags' before.

We talked to some people. Augereau told us that he believes people came from the sea, so when everybody drowns, they will actually be going home. I think those bags might be used by Lyney for his trick. He might steal something or... I don't know.

We collected some materials for Lyney, then we spotted a thief. Lyney told us that magicians and thieves use similar methods and told us to watch her carefully. Unfortunately, the thief ran away, but we at least managed to retrieve the stolen objects.

Next, we got on a water bus, and at the last moment, Charlotte joined us. During the trip, she told us that she's working on a case of missing girls. For 20 years, girls have been disappearing, and the culprit hasn't been found yet. Lyney showed his concern about potential Lynette's disappearance and that he would do everything to find her. Looks like that's what's going to happen. That disappearance was in the trailer.

We arrived at the Court of Fontaine.
