BUDGET NINGGUANG GUIDE
SUMMARY
Ningguang is a 4-Star Catalyst DPS character who is really great at single-target DMG. She can either be played on-field or as more of a Quickswap/Burst DPS character

Artifact Sets
- While I think 4pc Nighttime Whispers is generally the best 4pc Set for Ningguang, part of its 4pc Set Effect requires picking up Crystallize Shards, so I labeled it as "niche" in the guide
- Similarly, Archaic Petra relies on these Crystallize Shards for its 4pc Set Effect, but instead of a buff to Ningguang with 4pc Nighttime Whispers, 4pc Archaic provides a buff to teammate DMG buff. Not a resin-efficient domain
- 4pc Thundersoother and 4pc Lavawalker are viable in teams where you can keep the respective Elements applied on the enemy. Not worth farming specifically for Ningguang but can work if you have a decent set
- An easy way to build Ningguang is to use a 2pc Set Mix between Archaic Petra (for Geo DMG), ATK, and Noblesse (particularly in Quickswap teams)
Main Stat & Substats
- Looking for standard "ADC" (Attack, Damage, CRIT) Main Stats
- Doesn't hurt to build a bit of ER on Ningguang as well since she can deal a lot of Burst DMG
WEAPON OPTIONS
CRIT Weapons
- Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds - Elemental DMG Bonus Passive
- Widsith and Solar Pearl - Viable Passives (Solar Pearl is a bit better in my opinion since it isn't random, but is a Battle Pass weapon)
ATK Weapons - Great option as Ningguang has low Base ATK
- Skyward Atlas - Passive grants Elemental DMG Bonus and a chance to deal additional DMG through NAs
- Flowing Purity - Craftable weapon that can provide solid Elemental DMG Bonus with a strong healer on the team
- Dodoco Tales (limited-time Event weapon) and Eye of Perception - Passives can take advantage of Ningguang's usage of NAs and CAs
TEAM COMPS
As a DPS, most Ningguang teams want at least one other Geo character in the team so she can Burst more often and with Geo Resonance, enemies can have reduced Geo RES when the character is shielded and hits enemies.
- Zhongli and Albedo are ideal Geo teammates for DPS Ningguang. Gorou can work at C6 as well.
- Chiori may fit into a Triple or Mono Geo type team based on her Talent descriptions mentioned in livestream (relates to Geo Constructs) but not sure if she is more ideal than one of the other Geo options yet.
- Navia and Noelle can also act as on-field DPS characters if Ningguang is played in more of a Quickswap style.
- ATK Buffers like Bennett and Sara (who doesn't get much attention outside of Electro comps) are appreciated
- Fischl and Yae Miko are good Electro off-field options - Fischl preferred over Yae Miko due to her high ER requirements
- Xiangling can also be paired with Bennett as another Flex slot to provide additional off-field DMG
- Furina is a great option to buff team damage
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the weapon banner.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/90 (for additional Geo DMG) & talent levels 8 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
