BUDGET RAIDEN SHOGUN GUIDE

SUMMARY
Raiden Shogun is a 5-Star Polearm Support/DPS character who is well known as a universal battery and can fit in a variety of different team comps!
She acts as a Support character in the way she buffs teammates, refunds Energy to them, and provides constant off-field Electro application. But she can also act an on-field DPS as some of her support capabilities essentially translates into a buff for her own Elemental Burst DMG. Think of it like a cycle of good Karma!

TALENT & ASCENSION MATERIALS
Raiden Shogun leveled to 80/90 due to her Ascension Stat (Energy Recharge %). A second infographic for Lv 90 is provided as levels are important in Dendro reaction teams. If you're using her to Hyperbloom, Level 90 should be prioritized first, followed by her Skill !

ARTIFACTS

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate is a great build for Raiden as it increases her ER and Burst DMG
- If you're using her in Hyperbloom teams, Flower of Paradise Lost, Gilded Dreams, or any combination of 2pc EM sets can work fine!
Main Stat & Substats
- I personally prefer ER Sands as it makes it easier to reach her ER goals (I target ~200% ER). If you can comfortably get her Burst back, an ATK Sands is better for Raiden's personal DMG
- In most cases, Electro Goblets are preferred in teams with ATK Buffers (ex. Bennett, Kujou Sara). Otherwise, you can use an ATK Goblet since she also gains Electro DMG Bonus from her A4 Passive Talent
- As for substats, CRIT and ER stats should be prioritized first! EM stats are valuable in Dendro teams as well
- In Hyperbloom teams, she is relatively easy to build as you will only need to look for EM Main and Substats!

WEAPON OPTIONS
ER Weapons
- The Catch - Best F2P Weapon for Raiden, obtainable through Fishing.
- Skyward Spine - Alternative ER stat stick with high Base ATK
CRIT Weapons
- Jade Spear - Standard Banner weapon with high Base ATK, Passive can increase ATK % and DMG dealt
- Ballad of the Fjords - Battle Pass, great in Aggravate/Quickbloom teams since Raiden can appreciate a bit of EM
- Deathmatch / Blackcliff Pole - Passives aren't great, but they can be used as a CRIT Stat Stick
Weapons for Hyperbloom (EM substat)
- Dragon's Bane - Provides the most EM of the weapons listed
- Moonpiercer - Craftable weapon that can grant ATK % Buff to a teammate
- Kitain Cross Spear - Passive helps Raiden get her Burst back, but this isn't the main focus of Hyperbloom builds
Other usable, but less recommended options: Missive Windspear, Prototype Starglitter, Favonius Lance, Royal Spear
Beginner Friendly Options: Prototype Starglitter, Halberd/White Tassel

TEAM COMPS

Raiden can fit in a variety of team comps as she can act as a main DPS, Support/Battery, or cause Hyperblooms, etc. However, it is not as recommended to pair her with teammates who have lower cost Bursts as she won't get as many Resolve Stacks from it and the teammate probably doesn't need a battery to get their Burst back faster
- Reactionary (Overloaded or OverVape) - Raiden National is a great example of a popular Overvape team!
- Chevreuse is great for Overloaded teams since her kit is centered around this reaction! The drawback is that her teams are restricted to Pyro and Electro characters only
- Furina can also be used on OverVape teams
- Mono Electro - Can be paired with 2 Electro Units (Yae Miko, Fischl, Kujou Sara, Lisa) as well as an Anemo VV holder
- Hypercarry Raiden - Kazuha/Anemo VV, Bennett, and Kujou Sara to buff Raiden as much as possible
- Main DPS in Aggravate team - Dendro / Electro / Anemo VV
- Dendro: Nahida, Baizhu, Dendro Traveler, Kirara, Yaoyao
- Off-field Electro: Fischl, Kuki Shinobu, Yae Miko
- Hyperbloom - Dendro / Hydro / Flex - Raiden is used off-field on this team
- Hydro: Xingqiu, Yelan, Furina, Neuvillette, Kokomi
- Dendro: Alhaitham can be added to the list
- Physical - Raiden can act as a Battery and off-field Electro applicator for Superconduct reaction and Physical DPS characters

Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wishd as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/90 OR level 90/90 (for additional ER) & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
These are the concepts behind the Budget Guides and I hope it can help some of you!
