BUDGET HEIZOU GUIDE
SUMMARY
Heizou is a 4-Star Catalyst character who can easily Swirl elements. He has two on-field playstyles: a Triple EM build to Drive Reactions or an Anemo Quickswap DPS build. Alternatively, Heinous can be used as a general Anemo VV Support!

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Viridescent Venerer is generally best for his Driver and Support playstyles!
- If you want to play him as an Anemo DPS character:
- 4pc Golden Troupe is ideal for Quickswap as he primarily deals Skill DMG and doesn't need to be on-field for too long!
- 4pc Desert Pavilion Chronicle works for an on-field build!
- 2pc Set Mix between +15% Skill DMG / Anemo DMG / ATK Sets
Main Stat & Substats
- Triple EM for Driver Heizou. Prioritize EM and ER substats
- Anemo DPS - Standard ATK % Sands, Anemo DMG Goblet, and CRIT Circlet. Prioritize CRIT, ER, and ATK % substats
WEAPON OPTIONS
Weapon can depend a bit on your build. Anemo DPS Builds prefer offensive CRIT/ATK weapons, while supportive weapons with EM/ER work a bit better for EM builds. If your Heizou doesn’t have great stats yet in a Quickswap team, you can also use TTDS to buff a teammate instead
- CRIT Weapon Options: The Widsith, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Solar Pearl
- ATK Weapon Options: Skyward Atlas, Flowing Purity (Craftable, requires a healer)
- EM Weapon Options: Sacrificial Fragments, Magic Guide (3-Star)
- ER Weapon Options that can be good depending on your team: Favonius Codex, Hakushin Ring
TEAM COMPS
While Heizou has less grouping capabilities when compared to other Anemo characters, he is still fairly valuable as a 4pc VV Support if you don't have anyone else available. Can generally work in any team that needs Swirl/VV (such as Vaporize/Freeze), so his team comps can be a bit flexible
- Anemo DPS
- Pair Heizou with buffers like Faruzan, Furina, and/or Bennett to buff his Anemo DMG!
- Off-field DPS characters like Xiangling, Xingqiu, Fischl, Rosaria, etc. also work well with him!
- Electro-Charged
- 1-2 Electro Units: Ororon, Fischl, Beidou, Yae Miko, Kuki Shinobu
- 1-2 Hydro Units: Xingqiu, Yelan, Kokomi, Ayato, Furina, Sigewinne
- Dendro for Hyperbloom: Nahida, Dendro Traveler, Collei, Yaoyao, Baizhu, Kirara
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/90 (for additional Anemo DMG) & talent levels 8 / 8 / 8 OR Lv 90/90 with unleveled talents
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you may be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
