BUDGET DIONA GUIDE
SUMMARY
Diona is a 4-Star Bow Support character who can fill Supportive roles in the team by being the Healer, Shielder, and Battery

Diona leveled to 80/80 as she ascends with Cryo DMG, which isn't beneficial to her. You can level her up further for more HP and thereby a thicker shield/more healing if you choose

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Noblesse Oblige is always a good General Support set that is great with ATK scaling characters. If someone else is already using this set, 4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is a good pick too.
- While you can potentially use other 4pc Sets, the above two are likely Diona’s best options. You can use 2pc Set Mix for a more flexible build: +15% Healing Bonus (Maiden's Beloved and/or Ocean-Hued Clam) / +20% HP Sets (Tenacity and/or Vourukasha's Glow) / Emblem if you are struggling with Energy
Main Stat & Substats
- Building HP is most important as the main stat since her shield and heal both scale off of it
- ER is another stat that is good to build on her. If you are not running an ER weapon, it would be good to find an ER Sands.
- Look for CRIT Rate if you are running Favonius Warbow
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Favonius Warbow and Sacrificial Bow are both great 4-Star weapon options that provide Energy Recharge substat and a passive that helps generate Energy for the entire team. The choice between which one you want to run depends:
- Favonius is better for getting the clear Energy particles, which works better if you have more non-Cryo teammates
- Sacrificial Bow will generate more Cryo particles, which suits Cryo Energy-hungry teammates like Ayaka/Eula.
- Keep in mind Favonius has a higher ER substat % than Sacrificial does!
- Recurve Bow - a 3-Star weapon option for newer players who don't have either of the above weapons yet! Provides HP % substat
TEAM COMPS
Freeze - DPS / Off-fielder / Flex
- DPS: Ayaka, Ganyu, Wriothesley, Freminet (more like Shatter than Freeze), Neuvillette
- Off-fielder - Hydro if Cryo DPS, Cryo if Hydro DPS: Mona, Xingqiu, Ayato, Kokomi, Furina, Rosaria, Kaeya
- Flex: Anemo VV Holder or Xilonen
Mono Cryo - Better against bosses but requires Shenhe. However, this team is usually quite expensive (5-Stars)
Physical
- Freminet, Eula, or Razor team comps. Diona can act as a great Battery and Shield Support for Eula
- Fischl / Raiden are typically the preferred Electro in the team since they are good off-field applicators and batteries.
General Shielder
- While her shield is weaker than Zhongli's and Layla’s, if you don't have them or need another Shielder, Diona can be a good option. As an added bonus, she also heals!
- At C6, she has EM share which allows her to be played in Melt or Fridge teams
- Keep in mind that a character like Hu Tao doesn't appreciate Diona's drink making (Burst healing)
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
