BUDGET CYNO GUIDE
SUMMARY
Cyno is a 5-Star Electro Polearm on-field DPS character who infuses his NAs with Electro via his Burst. He is primarily played on Quickbloom and Aggravate teams and seems to rely heavily on the Dendro Element.
TALENT & ASCENSION MATERIALS
Cyno leveled to 90/90 due to his Ascension Stat (CRIT DMG %) and to maximize his Reaction DMG
His Electro-Infused NAs scale based off his Burst Talent Level, so you don't need to upgrade his Normal Attack Talent!
TALENT EXPLANATIONS
After setting up his buffs via teammates, Cyno will Burst. Use Skill whenever the Eye appears on your screen and weave in NAs in between

ARTIFACTS
Artifact Sets
- 4pc Thundering Fury is the best Artifact Set in most situations, as it provides additional DMG and can also reduce his Elemental Skill cooldown, thereby lowering his ER requirements. Recommended to farm a 4pc Set for Cyno !
- 4pc Gilded Dreams is another solid 4pc Set option, but not as great as Thundering Fury.
- 4pc Gladiator's Finale also a viable option for Aggravate Cyno, while 2pc set mixes (2pc Thundering Fury / 2pc EM) can work for Quickbloom
Main Stat & Substats
- EM sands is typically preferred over ATK % Sands since it is useful for both Quickbloom and Aggravate.
- EM Goblets or Circlets can work in Quickbloom comps if it has some great substats on it
- Build at least a bit of ER on him since he has an 80 Energy Cost Burst (which is why 4pc Thundering Fury is such a great set for him!). If your team doesn't have a 2nd Electro, you may want to consider building more ER, either through an ER Sands or an ER Weapon
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Ballad of the Fjords - Battle Pass Weapon that is an amazing option for Cyno. Provides CRIT Rate substat. Passive gives Cyno 120 EM at R1 if there are 3 different Elemental Types in the Party (which there are if he is played on a Quickbloom team!)
- Jade Spear (high base ATK) and Deathmatch (Battle Pass) - provides CRIT Rate substat and ATK % passive
- White Tassel - 3-Star F2P weapon. CRIT Rate substat and boosts NA DMG with its passive
- Missive Windspear - Event weapon with ATK % substat. Increases ATK % and EM after triggering reactions
- Kitain Cross Spear - Craftable ER weapon that provides EM substat. Good choice for Cyno if he is the only Electro on the team!
- Other ER Weapon options (generally not preferred over the Offensive Weapons listed above): Skyward Spine, Prototype Starglitter, Favonius Lance
TEAM COMPS
- Cyno runs really well in Dendro/Electro reaction comps so his teams usually enjoy a 2nd Electro character (helps lower his ER requirement) and an off-field Dendro character. He would also love a shielder by his side!
- Off-field Electro: Ineffa, Fischl, Ororon, Beidou, Yae Miko, Raiden Shogun (only to help with Energy), Kuki Shinobu
- Off-field Dendro: Nahida, Lauma, Baizhu, Yaoyao, Emilie, Dendro Traveler, Collei. Baizhu is a great pick as he can consolidate healing and shielding into one slot!
- Flex Slots: 2nd Electro unit, Shielder, Buffer (Xilonen, Anemo VV holder)
- Quickbloom teams are centered around Hyperblooms and Quickens (for Aggravate damage) and require an Off-field Hydro: Xingqiu, Yelan, Furina, Kokomi
- Quickburn or Chevreuse Overloaded teams with Pyro characters like Thoma, Dehya, Mavuika, Xiangling
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 90/90 (for maximum Reaction DMG) & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- Potentially frees up resin that may be spent on talent domains to farm artifacts instead
