BUDGET BARBARA GUIDE
SUMMARY
Barbara is a 4-Star Catalyst character and the first healer we meet on our journey! You can either build her as a healer (primarily for beginners) or build her as a Bloomer

Lv 80 is recommended for a typical Support Barbara, Lv 90 is great for her Bloom DMG!

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Ocean-Hued Clam is a great General Support set that allows Barbara to deal some extra personal DMG based on how much healing she provides the team
- Other General Support sets like 4pc Scroll of Cinder City (with a Natlan DPS), 4pc Instructors (provides team EM), or 4pc Deepwood Memories (for Dendro RES Shred) can also work if there is no better holder on the team
- If using Barbara for Bloom, Flower of Paradise Lost, Gilded Dreams, or two 2pc EM Sets can all work!
Main Stat & Substats
- Barbara is not too picky and is primarily looking for HP Main stats and Substats
- Healing Bonus is the preferred Circlet since she can build quite a bit of HP through her Sands, Goblet, and Weapon
- EM is appreciated in Bloom teams only
WEAPON OPTIONS
- General Support weapons
- HP Substat: TTDS (provides ATK % buff), Prototype Amber (refunds her Energy, gives Party periodic healing), Ash Graven Drinking Horn (extra personal DMG)
- ER: Favonius Codex (provides the team Energy Particles)
- EM Weapons - Primarily for Bloom teams
- Blackmarrow Lantern - New Craftable weapon that gives 221 EM and increases Bloom DMG
- Etherlight Spindlelute - Event weapon with ER Substat but Passive can provide up to 200 EM at R5
- Sacrificial Fragments (221 EM), Magic Guide (187 EM)
TEAM COMPS
Barbara can fit in as a Healer in many teams but is typically less preferred than Kokomi, who also heals but is capable of applying consistent off-field Hydro application. Barbara can work great with Furina though since she can use her Burst to heal the entire Party
But Barbara can act as a more F2P version of Kokomi and can use an EM Build on a Nilou Bloom team
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8. Lv 90 is recommended for Bloom
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
