MiHoYo playing that long game guys.
I mean seriously who knew that this one off comment by Zhongli during a bartending event was going to keep snowballing like this.
We hear more about it during the Little Pirate Goes Out To Sea Commission that I talked about last patch. And more recently we heard about it from Zhiqiong during the Chasm Delvers quest.
Now Liben's bringing it up too.
And why is he bringing it up?
This is an area I looked at (that time I got bored over and over again) and we can actually see all of Qiaoying Village. Going back to what we've heard about it Zhiqiong does talk about a creek and from the pictures yes you can definitely see the creek she's talking about.
That is pretty cool. So it'll be a new Liyue region one day. Honestly since it shares a border with Mondstadt too I thought it would have been a joint region maybe as an outlying territory to both. But I guess MiHoYo has plans for it so it's all part of Liyue. And what plans might they be?
This part of Liyue shares a border with Fontaine so just like I predicted this is how we'll probably get to Fontaine. I'm not sure why we wouldn't take the Mondstadt path at the edge of Old Mondstadt. Maybe modern day Mondstadters don't really go there?
Liyue borders Sumeru but I predicted that Lisa will be a key figure in our path into the region so maybe because Mondstadt is being included in the Prologue into Sumeru Liyue is being included in Fontaine's Prologue through something to do with Qiaoying.
Since we also have a Mondstadt character who comes from Fontaine this will be a great moment for Monax to cameo. I won't give up on this pairing MiHoYo. You should just give in and accept it.
Sumeru's not even out yet but we're already prepping for the next region. I really hope we'll be seeing peeks at Natlan once Sumeru's released. You know the first thing I'm doing is going to the far edge of the map to see what might be further out there.
