Al-Haitham Main DPS Guide

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening everyone!

I have returned once again with another build guide for you all to use!

This time we will be discussing over "lowly" scribe Al-Haitham!

Materials

Farming Schedule

Skill Kit

Now there is a lot that Al-Haitham can do due to being a Dendro character and the fact he infuses Dendro to his Normal Attacks! This means Elemental Reactions are amazing to utilize with him, but first let's go over his kit carefully!

Normal Attack

Normal Attack

Abductive Reasoning

Normal Attack

Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.

Charged Attack

Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Plunging Attack

Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Talent Level 1:

1 Hit DMG: 49.5%

Charged Attack DMG: 55.3% + 55.3%

Plunge DMG: 63.9%

Low/High Plunge DMG: 128%/160%

Talent Level 10:

1 Hit DMG: 97.9%

Charged Attack DMG: 109.2% + 109.2%

Plunge DMG: 126.4%

Low/High Plunge DMG: 253%/316%

Skill

Universality: An Elaboration on Form

Rushes forward, dealing Dendro DMG to nearby opponents when the rush ends, causing a Chisel-Light Mirror to form.

Holding this skill will cause it to behave differently.

Hold

Enters Aiming Mode to adjust the direction of Alhaitham's rush attack.

Chisel-Light Mirror

When this skill is unleashed, Alhaitham will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. If there are no Mirrors at this time, he will generate 1 additional Mirror. Chisel-Light Mirrors will have the following properties:

· When he possesses Chisel-Light Mirrors, Alhaitham's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Dendro DMG. This cannot be overridden.

· When attacks of the aforementioned kind hit opponents, the Chisel-Light Mirrors will unleash a Projection Attack that deals AoE Dendro DMG based on the number of Mirrors on the field.

· A total of 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors can exist at once.

· The Chisel-Light Mirrors will disappear one after the other over time, and will all disappear when Alhaitham leaves the field.

1 Chisel-Light Mirror

2 Chisel-Light Mirror

3 Chisel-Light Mirror

Talent Level 1:

Rush Attack DMG: 193.6% ATK + 154.9% Elemental Mastery

1-Mirror Projection Attack DMG: 67.2% ATK + 134.4% Elemental Mastery

2-Mirror Projection Attack DMG: (67.2% ATK + 134.4% Elemental Mastery)×2

3-Mirror Projection Attack DMG: (67.2% ATK + 134.4% Elemental Mastery)×3

Chisel-Light Mirror Removal Interval: 4.0s

CD: 18.0s

Talent Level 11:

Rush Attack DMG: 367.8% ATK + 294.3% Elemental Mastery

1-Mirror Projection Attack DMG: 127.7% ATK + 255.4% Elemental Mastery

2-Mirror Projection Attack DMG: (127.7% ATK + 255.4% Elemental Mastery)×2

3-Mirror Projection Attack DMG: (127.7% ATK + 255.4% Elemental Mastery)×3

Chisel-Light Mirror Removal Interval: 4.0s

CD: 18.0s

Important Note:

Seeing the information on Al-Haitham's skill, we can see that depending on the amount of Chisel-Light Mirrors he holds, the higher the damage he will do, and that it scales off of both ATK and Elemental Mastery. With that kept in mind, it is also important to note that after using the skill Al-Haitham will have his Normal Attacks be infused with Dendro, making it the perfect time to do reaction based damage with other supports giving off field support.

Burst

Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena

Elemental Burst

Creates a Particular Binding Field and deals multiple instances of AoE Dendro DMG.

If Chisel-Light Mirrors exist when this ability is unleashed, all such Mirrors will be consumed and increase the number of DMG instances dealt.

2s after this ability is unleashed, if 0/1/2/3 Mirrors were consumed, Alhaitham will generate 3/2/1/0 new Mirrors in turn.

Talent Level 1:

Single-Instance DMG: 121.6% ATK + 97.3% Elemental Mastery

Basic Attack Instances: 4

1-Mirror Attack Instnaces: 6

2-Mirror Attack Instances: 8

3-Mirror Attack Instances: 10

CD: 18.0s

Energy Cost: 70

Talent Level 11:

Single-Instance DMG: 231.0% ATK + 184.8% Elemental Mastery

Basic Attack Instances: 4

1-Mirror Attack Instnaces: 6

2-Mirror Attack Instances: 8

3-Mirror Attack Instances: 10

CD: 18.0s

Energy Cost: 70

Passive Talent 1

Four-Causal Correction

When Alhaitham's Charged or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, they will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. This effect can be triggered once every 12s.

Passive Talent 2

Mysteries Laid Bare

Each point of Alhaitham's Elemental Mastery will increase the DMG dealt by Projection Attacks and Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 0.1%.

The DMG of both aforementioned abilities can be increased by a maximum of 100% this way.

Overworld Talent

Law of Reductive Overdetermination

When Alhaitham crafts Weapon Ascension Materials, he has a 10% chance to receive double the product.

Skill Kit Summary

Now that we've overlooked his kit we can summarize what would be good for Al-Haitham. Assuming a C0 case, because with constellations there are slight changes to the build for him.

Looking at the scaling of his kit, we can see that ATK and Elemental Mastery are very important for him to do a large amount of damage. This makes sense as Dendro is a very elemental reaction based element. Now that does not mean one needs to go completely Elemental Mastery on his build for him, instead a balance of a regular DPS and Elemental Mastery is required. Having around 200-400 Elemental Mastery is a good starting point for no constellations and signature weapon. This is easy enough to achieve with certain weapons, substats, sands, and characters that is covered in the guide.

So anyone looking forward to building him will have to balance these aspects to ensure his damage can truly shine. Thankfully there are options that are friendly for even the F2P players. All of it covered further down below.

Constellations

Intuition

When a Projection Attack hits an opponent, Universality: An Elaboration on Form's CD is decreased by 1.2s. This effect can be triggered once every 1s.

Debate

When Alhaitham generates a Chisel-Light Mirror, his Elemental Mastery will be increased by 50 for 8 seconds, max 4 stacks. Each stack's duration is counted independently. This effect can be triggered even when the maximum number of Chisel-Light Mirrors has been reached.

Negation

Increases the Level of Universality: An Elaboration on Form by 3.

Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Eludication

When Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, the following effects will become active based on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors consumed and created this time around:

· Each Mirror consumed will increase the Elemental Mastery of all other nearby party members by 30 for 15s.

· Each Mirror generated will grant Alhaitham a 10% Dendro DMG Bonus for 15s.

The pre-existing duration of the aforementioned effects will be cleared if you use Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena again while they are in effect.

Sagacity

Increases the Level of Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 3.

Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Structuration

Alhaitham gains the following effects:

· 2 seconds after Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, he will generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors regardless of the number of mirrors consumed.

· If Alhaitham generates Chisel-Light Mirrors when their numbers have already maxed out, his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will increase by 10% and 70% respectively for 6s. If this effect is triggered again during its initial duration, the duration remaining will be increased by 6s.

Noteworthy Constellations

C1: Decreases the cooldown of the skill which will help with rotation timing and therefore increase the damage output. Makes it easier to get 3 Chisel Light Mirrors as well.

C2: Increases Al-Haitham's Elemental Mastery depending if there is a Chisel-Light Mirror and can stack up to 4 times. This allows his damage to increase overall considering his kit scales with ATK and Elemental Mastery. Having this constellation also allow one to put an ATK sands on him instead of Elemental Mastery.

This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" for 12s. "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" increases Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG by 16%/20%/24%/28%/32% and increases ATK by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s. Of the many effects of the "Millennial Movement," buffs of the same type will not stack.

Sword of Narzissenkreuz

This effect can be triggered once every 12s. The energy blast type is determined by the current type of the Sword of Narzissenkreuz.

Artifacts

Gilded Dreams

4-Piece Set: After triggering an Elemental Reaction, grants equipping character bonus ATK for every party member of the same Elemental Type and bonus  Elemental Mastery for every party member of a different Elemental Type

Deepwood Memories

4-Piece Set: Lowers enemies' Dendro RES and can be triggered even when character is not on field

Gladiator's Finale

2 Piece: ATK +18%.

4 Piece: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

Wanderer's Troupe

2 Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80

4 Piece: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or Bow

Important Note

One can go and do 2 Piece combinations of any listed in case a good 4 piece set is not available. It is also important to note the specifics of Gilded Dreams and Deepwood Memories.

If there are two Dendro characters being added to the team, then the one who will be doing the most reactions should have Gilded Dreams. The character that is going to apply Dendro would hold onto Deepwood Memories for the team. For example if Al-Haitham is paired with Nahida, he will hold Gilded Dreams and Nahida will have Deepwood Memories. This is because Al-Haitham will be the one on field and doing the reactions.

Team Set Up

Hyperbloom

Al-Haitham/Nahida/Xingque/Yelan/Kuki Shinobu

This team is good for Hyperbloom reactions, where Nahida will be used to mark all the surrounding enemies while giving all characters increased Elemental Mastery. Xingue is giving Hydro application with his rain swords, but also prevents Al-Haitham from being staggered since rainswords can absorb damage. Kuki is the healer, but also does amazing off field electro damage with her skill.

Burgeon/Overload

Al-Haitham/Thoma/Xingque/Yelan/Kuki Shinobu

Thoma will give us amazing Burgeon application, along with a shield that refreshes if affected by Pyro (C6 requirement) which will prevent Al-Haitham from being staggered. With Kuki's Skill when not doing Hyerbloom damage, Overload, Aggravate, or Burgeon reactions could happen.

Gameplay Tips

Hyperbloom team rotation

  1. Activate Nahida's skill on enemies to mark them with Dendro
  2. Nahida's Burst
  3. XIngque Burst and Skill
  4. Kuki Skill and Burst
  5. Al-haitham Skill and Burst (if possible)
  6. Normal and Charge Attacks with Al-Haitham until support off field skills end
  7. Rinse and repeat the rotation

I hope this guide was of use and help to everyone! I'll be making more slowly and if there are any questions feel free to write a comment or pop by in stream to ask for in depth explanations!
