▸ Hello Captains! In this guide, we will be taking a look at the new PRI-ARM weapon, Midnight Ataegina that was introduced in version 5.5.
▸ Midnight Ataegina is a Lance-type weapon, equipable only on Durandal. We will analyze the weapon’s skill in further detail and find out the difference between this weapon’s bonuses and other Physical DMG lances. Active Skill – Point Quasar
▸ Analysis: For every other Lance-users and Palatinus Equinox Guardian Form, the weapon active has the usual thrust attack, dealing Physical DMG.
▸ A Throw ATK will be triggered if the weapon active hits an enemy who is not in Invincibility or Iron Body state, dealing tons of Physical DMG.
▸ If an enemy executes certain moves, a Throw Counter will be triggered, disabling the enemy attacks and movements, and deals Physical DMG.
▸ Weapon active for Palatinus Equinox Knight Form is different than any other lance-users. Tapping the weapon skill will unleash Cannon Blast with a maximum of 3 sequences. After 3 successive hits, the weapon will reload after you tap the [Weapon] for the fourth time. There is no CD for Cannon Blast, except the reloading time.
▸ There is another extra movement set for Palatinus Equinox after triggering certain attacks:
1) In Guardian Form, tap the weapon skill after Special ATK to unleash the Joint Cannon Blast.
2) In Guardian Form, tap the weapon skill after Shield Ram to unleash Joint Cannon Blast.
3) In Guardian Form, tap the weapon skill after Equinox Severance (Charged ATK) to perform Special Joint Cannon Blast.
Passive Skill 1 – Karma Cycle
▸ Analysis: Straight to the point skill. Increases wielder’s Crit Rate by 15%, very valuable for any Physical Valkyries. The second effect also makes the wielder’s Weapon Skill deals 30% TDM and 15% Physical DMG.
Passive Skill 2 – Daybreak Equinox
▸ Analysis: The second passive skill is a new skill only be obtained after upgrading a 5-star weapon into its PRI-ARM. The first effect unconditionally increases the wielder’s TDM by 20%. Although the first one is extremely good, the second effect is sub-par as it only improves the character’s survivability by reducing damage taken by 35% after triggering Ultimate Evasion for 12 seconds.

▸ Damage Comparison:
▸ Number 1 in dealing the highest damage for Palatinus Equinox is Midnight Ataegina, her signature PRI-ARM. The second is Hler's Ataraxia, another Physical PRI-ARM that quite universal for any Physical damage dealer.
▸ Abyss Flower: Liminal Spiral is bad for PE because it is tailored for Bright Knight Excelsis, except for a few of its passive skills and high base stats. Furthermore, using the 5-star counterpart of M-Ataegina (M-Eclipse) is more worth it, as it only has 2% differences from Abyss Flower PRI-ARM.

▸ M-Ataegina can greatly improve the Physical output capability of Palatinus Equinox. It can cause high Physical damage to the enemy through continuous Cannon Blast. Most of its damage effect bonuses are from unconditional bonuses, which are very convenient for this battlesuit.

▸ It is not the best for BKE as she already has Abyss Flower: Liminal Spiral that was designed specifically for her, and Hler’s Ataraxia. However, if you do not have these two PRI-ARMs, then M-Ataegina is a decent substitute.

▸ Midnight Ataegina is a lance weapon debuted in version 5.5. It is suitable for Palatinus Equinox and unconditionally increases the wielder’s Crit Rate and Weapon Skill damage. Furthermore, the extra skill for PRI-ARM also increases the wielder’s Total DMG.
▸ While M-Ataegina is equipped with Palatinus Equinox, it can be used in two different playstyles, depending on her form. In the Guardian Form, this weapon skill will become a Cannon Blast. Meanwhile, in Knight Form, it becomes Throw ATK (Like any other lance).
▸ Should you pull for M-Eclipse and upgrade it into M-Ataegina? Yes, IF you do not have Hler’s Ataraxia. As you can see in the Weapon Comparison, although M-Ataegina is in 1st place, Hler’s Ataraxia is not far behind with only 10% differences. You might want to save your crystals and materials for other weapons.
▸ However, if you’re rich in xtals and a simp for Dudu, pull the 5-star weapon and upgrade to PRI-ARM for aesthetic and power.
