✦ Full Infographic (TL;DR) ✦

✦ Talents Overview ✦

✦ Elemental Skill: Skyward Sonnet ✦

Press

Summons a Wind Domain at the opponent's location, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching small opponents into the air.

Hold

Summons a larger Wind Domain at Venti's location, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching small opponents into the air.

• Skyward Sonnet generates 3 Elemental Particles if pressed, 4 if held

• Enemies lifted will slowly fall to the ground (similarly to Jean's Charged Attack)

• Hold version is rarely useful in combat but very handy in world exploration

✦ Elemental Burst: Wind's Grand Ode ✦

Fires off an arrow that creates a Stormeye that pulls and lifts opponents, dealing continuous Anemo DMG. It can absorb Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, dealing additional Elemental DMG of that element (only 1 Elemental Absorption per Burst).

Burst Mechanics

• His Burst generates 3 different instances of damage: Anemo, Elemental (from the infused Element) and Swirl

• The Anemo part has a total of 20 instances of damage, scaling off Atk, Crit, DMG% multipliers

• The Elemental part has a cap of 16 instances of damage (depending on how fast you apply a new element), scaling off Atk, Crit, DMG% multipliers

• The Swirl part has around 7 Swirls, scaling off Elemental Mastery and Character Level only

• The priority

• Enemies more than 20 levels above Venti will not be lifted

• Objects made by players will not be pulled (Sayu Burst, Amber Skill, Guoba, etc)

• Most small enemies will be pulled and lifted by this Burst, depending on how big the target is, ins7tead, it might be only pulled in but not lifted. Some mid size enemy will only be pulled if frozen. Big enemies like bosses will not be pulled nor lifted

Anemo + Hydro

Hydro Swirls will only spread Wet with no extra damage.

This is easier to explain with an example: if you have 2 enemies close to each other and one is affected by Pyro, Swirling that element will deal one instance of Anemo Damage, one of Pyro damage (Swirl) and another one of Pyro damage (Swirl) on the other enemy.

In the same scenario, but with Hydro, the second enemy will only be affected by Hydro (Wet), without receiving the damage.

See how in the first image there's only 1 instance of Hydro damage while in the second there are 2 of Pyro. This behavior only happens with Hydro. Remember there is a cap of 2 instances of damage per element in a half a second window anyway.

✦ Normal Attack: Divine Marksmanship ✦

Venti's basic attack is rarely useful unless you are waiting for the switch cooldown

✦ Ascension 1: Embrace of Winds ✦

Holding his Elemental Skill creates an upcurrent that lasts for 20s. Useless talent outside exploration until we get a character that wants to spam Plunge Attacks without easier means to do so.

✦ Ascension 4: Stormeye ✦

Regenerates 15 Energy for Venti when Burst ends. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, it also restores 15 Energy to all characters of that corresponding element.

• Even if not infused it will not generate Energy for other Anemo units

✦ Talent Priority ✦

Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attack (can be left at level 1)

Beware that Character Levels are more important than Talent Levels in most situations

✦ Combo ✦

E > Q. Very important combo to min max his on-field time, especially for Windblume Ode users. Basically the Skill animation is cancelled by the Burst, an example below:

Skill > N1. Whenever you want to switch and only use his skill you should wave in a Normal Attack (N1) as the switch cooldown is longer than

✦ Build and Artifacts ✦

Venti can be built in 2 ways: Full Elemental Mastery or Crit.

EM build is cheaper but very effective at low / mid investment for Talent levels and Artifacts quality. This build can get outpaced in terms of total damage by the classic damage build (ATK / Anemo / Crit), your choice will also depend on your weapon but some EM or some Crit in either build will not be much of an issue. Note that the Crit build is especially good in Anemo/Geo teams.

Keep in mind that his Ascension Stat is Energy Recharge (32% at Level 80/90)

Artifact sets

• 4 Viridescent Venerer

His best set. A pain to farm but it gives both high personal damage and high utility via RES debuffs.

• 2 mix | VV / +80 EM / Atk / Noblesse

An offensive mix that is usually only good for Anemo/Geo teams. In elemental teams that already have a Viridescent Venerer user you will probably still want the 60% Swirl Damage VV provides but it's an opening for higher substats mixes or full Noblesse Set if nobody is running it.

Main/Sub Stats

EM BUILD

• Sands | EM. ER if you need it

• Goblet | EM. Going Anemo DMG is not a bad choice either

• Circlet | EM. Crit Rate is also ok

Your substats will focus on EM > Atk% > Crit Rate. Make sure to always have enough ER%.

CRIT BUILD

• Sands | ATK.

• Goblet | Anemo DMG.

• Circlet | Crit.

Your substats will focus on Crit > Atk% > EM. Make sure to always have enough ER%.

✦ Weapons ✦

What's the best weapon for Venti? The short answer is Stringless, the long answer is it depends. I will list the most competitive bows below but usually if you are building a cheaper EM build it's ok to go for EM, ER or utility Bows. In high investment builds Crit and 5 Star bows will gain value but Stringless will still be your best choice most of the time.

✦ 5 Star ✦

• Polar Star His highest damage potential when fully stacked but unfortunately during normal gameplay it will be slightly behind R5 Stringless. Good substat, amazing passive but getting full stacks might not be worth the time

• Thundering Pulse It might not look like it but this weapon on average will perform better than Skyward Harp, still not worth pulling for Venti

• Skyward Harp A very good option for Crit Venti

• Elegy for the End This weapon sacrifices Venti's personal damage for a party-wide Atk%/EM buff, a very good weapon for support Venti. A few things to notice:

• His Burst can proc the weapon effect very fast but it will not benefit from the Atk% buff

• The ER% substat his overkill in most teams

• 20 sec cooldown passive doesn't line up very well with your Burst being 15 sec cooldown

✦ 4 Star ✦

• Stringless Especially with refinements this is Venti's best weapon in many scenarios. If you have one, use it but only if you always infuse his Burst with another element

• Windblume Ode Best F2P option. EM substat with an Atk buff, remember to cast your Skill before your Burst with this bow

• Favonius Warbow Worth mentioning but I wouldn't recommend it; if your team really needs the extra energy go for it

• Alley Hunter / Blackcliff / Viridescent / Mouun's Moon Your go to option in Crit builds if you lack Stringless refinements, Alley Hunter is especially good and given refinements it can even beat 5 star R1 options

✦ 3 Star ✦

• Raven Bow An amazing option for low AR / cheaper builds. Offers decent base Atk, EM substat and extra DMG on Hydro/Pyro affected units

✦ Teams ✦

Venti is a character that can fit most teams but it's usually chosen depending on the enemies, especially for large groups of small/mid enemies. It's still very effective against big enemies that don't move too much or frozen enemies that can get hit by the entirety of his Burst. Also note that some character's Attacks, Skills and/or Burst cannot reliably hit small enemies lifted by the Burst.

Morgana

A very popular team that makes any "freezable" content super easy.

Diona provides energy and heals/shields if needed. Venti and Ganyu Bursts synergize very well with each other because Venti will group up enemies while Ganyu Burst will deal AoE damage (quadratic scaling) to each enemy. Mona will provide off-field buffs and Omen (Burst) extension, basically doubling the duration of the effect against frozen enemies.

When playing Morgana make sure of a few things:

• Always apply Cryo before Mona's Burst (otherwise the Omen extension will not happen)

• Always swirl Cryo over Hydro, try to also infuse Venti's Burst with Cryo

• For Mona ER% is a priority over damage

• Diona's heals and shields are not too useful because if everything is done correctly you will simply not need them, it is then possible to build damage on her

• Ganyu wants to be built Atk / Cryo / Crit with Blizzard set

• Venti's build is flexible just make sure you have 4 Viridescent Venerer

The rotation is not always the same and you can get creative but as stated above don't forget to apply Cryo before casting Mona's Burst!

The team is somewhat flexible: Kazuha, Sucrose can replace Venti, Kaeya/Rosaria can replace Ganyu and Ayato/Kokomi can replace Mona but any replacement will be a cost to your total damage or synergy.

Any

Large group of enemies? Need VV shred? Want some extra energy? High damage? Venti answers all of that so use him wherever you need. Just make sure your other characters can hit inside his Burst.

Done!

P.s. I'm sorry I didn't list many teams but I feel like I would just force some comp where in reality you can just fit him anywhere you need his kit :)
