This does not let it be a summary of my Genshin Impact Guide for beginners (or not So much):

https://www.hoyolab.com/article/4559890

Here I focus on explaining in detail and step by step, how to build a character and his equipment, as well as spend resin in an efficient way.

If there is any concept or doubt that is not clear to you, Google it: Genshin + Doubt + Fandom.

1. Primogems

It is the most precious asset in the game, and you will only have to spend it on Intertwined Fates, in order to spend it on Wishes on the Character Promotional Banner that you need or like.

Get used to the idea that you won't be able to get all the 5* characters from the Banners, unless you decide to spend a lot of money, so you should prioritize and skip the character banners that you won't use, in order to save for the character banner with the idea of forming a good team first, and a second later, to fight in the Abyss.

1.1. Banner

Just shoot the promo, if you're interested in the character. If not, save up until one comes out that you like or is good enough that you can build two teams for the Abyss.

Don't even look at the Weapon Banner and the permanent (only if you've been dropped by an Acquaint Fate.).

Don't Roll Wishes just to increase Pity, or because you're interested in a 4* Banner character.

It does not matter to wish 1 in 1, than 10 in 10.

1.1.1. Pity

Log in to the Gatcha, Select History > Select a Banner > Count Wishes until you reach 5* > This is your Pity on this Banner....

If you just use a wish, be aware that it takes a few minutes for the Pity to update.

1.3.Ways to obtain Primogems

The easiest way to get Primogems at the beginning of the game is by unlocking Teleports, Statues of the Seven, and domains, opening all the chests that you find on your way (following seelies, solving Puzzles, doing Challenges, etc...)

Here I highlight the following:

1.3.1.Daily Comissions

Don't forget to claim your reward after finishing them.

1.3.2. Hoyolab

Register in the Official Forum of the game, you can get daily rewards, including 60 Protos per month for daily registrations. They also hold Web Events, from time to time, and often give out Primogems as rewards.

1.3.3. Events

Do all the Events you can, you have a time limit. For this, I advise you to advance in Archon Quest, and increase your AR (Aventure Rank), since they are usually necessary requirements to access them.

My Guide: 10 Ways to Raise AR Adventure EXP

https://www.hoyolab.com/article/6234590

1.3.4. Redemption Codes

I use this page: https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Promotional_Codes

GENSHINGIFT (this one does not expire).

They usually update it every time there is an update and be very attentive to the Livestreams of the progress of the updates (between one week and ten days before the end of the current version), since they usually give 300 Primos and the codes are only valid for 24h.

1.3.5. Blessing of the Welkin Moon and Gnostic Battle Pass

I advise them when you reach high levels of AR, and you see that you are missing Primogems, mora and materials, as long as you are faithful to play every day, the Battle Pass will require more game time to complete it.

1.3.6. Abyss

It's probably the hardest part of the game, but you can win quite a few Primos, and a Xiangling Constellation by beating level 3-3, and Collei by beating 4-3.

1.3.7. Other ways to get Protogems

20 Ways to Get Primogems.

https://www.hoyolab.com/article/4583652

2. Resin

To get rewarded by defeating Bosses, Ley Lines and Domains, you will need to spend Original Resin.

From the start you will get 1 Original Resin every 8 minutes, so it will take 21.3 hours to get the maximum 160 Original Resin (You can see the Original Resins you have on the top right of the Map).

Updated note: On the Map you will be able to see the time you have left for the next Original Resin Regeneration (to give you 1 more), and the time you have left for the Complete Original Resin Regeneration (to get it to 200).

So I recommend that you enter the game a couple of times a day to be able to spend these Resins and that they do not accumulate until you reach their maximum cap of 160, and do not lose Resin.

When you reach the AR25 do the Liyue Reputation missions, in order to obtain the manufacturing blueprints for Condesed Resin. This way you will be able to Condesed 40 of Original Resin in Condesed Resin (you will also need a Crystal Core, which is obtained by catching Cristalóperos), being able to have up to 5 Condesed Resins at a time. So you can save up to 200 Original Resin to spend later on Domains and Ley Lines (To claim a Bosses reward it does not work, for this you will need to have Original Resin)

I recommend that before you close the game session you spend the Original Resin or create it.

2.1.What to spend the Resin on?

At the beginning (until you reach Ascension Phase 2, AR25) (AR = Adventure Rank) you won't need to go crazy and level up all your characters (at most up to level 20), I would focus on raising good weapons 3 * and 4* (weapon material domains open in AR16).

So until the AR16 I would spend the resin on Bosses (those that give you the necessary materials for your Team Characters), and as a last resort on Ley Lines of EXP Books and Moras.

As of AR16 I would add to this list the Weapon Material Masteries and Talents of your Characters on your Team.

Focus on spending Resin to max out your DPS, level, Talent and Weapons.

Here is a Table to determine the recommended investment Resin, according to the Role of the Character:

(Important talents are usually All for one DPS, and Elemental and Ulti for the rest)

(The Flower Artifact always at the Maximum, for all investment levels)

It is not convenient to make a level A investment, in a DPS that you plan to replace in the short term.

Weekly Bosses (as many as you can, even AR45 will be the source of your best artifacts), at high AR levels it is convenient to farm only the 3 Bosses that you have the least materials, or that you need to raise the talents that interest you, to optimize the resin. (See below 3.4.4.1. Weekly Bosses)

AR40 Do Zhongli's legendary mission, to get one more weekly boss.

3. Characters

3.1. Choose DPS

The good thing about genshin is that any character well built and accompanied can do more than decent damage.

DPS in order of importance: Hu Tao, Alhaitham, (Ayaka), Nahida, Tighnari, Ganyu, Tartaglia, (Ayato, Itto), Yelan, Cyno, Keching, (Wanderer), Xiao, Eula (Yoimiya), (Adding characters from new versions) .Or even other DPS, SubDPS or Support Characters, you can use them as your DPS like, Yanfei, Klee, Diluc, (Heizou), Beidu, Bennett or Kaeya, in early game.

At first you do not want the characters in parentheses, not for anything in particular, just because their ascension materials will be out of reach, until you can unlock certain areas, like Ekonomiya, Inazuma or Chasm: Underground Mines. So if you have access to these areas, you can include them in this list of essentials. (See my Guide: Beginner's Guide to Banned Characters https://www.hoyolab.com/article/5586974)

Once you have good DPS, you will focus on her, leveling her up (Locate the Boss that drops her Ascension Materials), her weapons (Unlock her AR16 Weapon Material Mastery) and her three Talents (Unlock her Talent Mastery, you need Ascension Phase 2 AR25), put your best artifacts on it (see later), turn everything up to the maximum (it's your DPS for a reason). Investment Level A.

So initially I would advise teaming up with Kaeya as DPS, unless you get lucky and get one of the recommended DPS characters above.

3.2. A good Team

Chosen your DPS, you will have to choose the rest of the team.

Best team according to your Character (English, very intuitive): https://keqingmains.com/#search

Select your Character and role, and it will advise you different companions.

Try to form SS teams. I know that initially it will be difficult to have all the characters that they suggest, so you can get an idea of the composition of a team. For example, if they suggest you a Mona as a companion and you don't have it, you can substitute it for Xingchiu, or if they suggest Venti, you can change it for Sucrose.

My Best F2P Teams Guide: Will help you build decent early game teams:

https://www.hoyolab.com/article/15502076

My Guide to the Best Teams: It is a compilation of the one from genshinlab.com, so that you take it into account when shooting the Banner and not to waste resources raising all the characters:

https://www.hoyolab.com /article/14351434

If you don't have ha Nahida, you can try Collei, Traveler Dendro or Yao Yao.

If you don't have Zhongli, you can substitute him with Thoma, Diona, or Layla.

If you don't have Raiden or Yae Miko, you can use Fischl or Kuki.

If you don't have Yelan or Kokomi, you can use Xingqiu or Mona.

If you don't have Kazuha or Venti, get Sucrose or Jean... etc.

The fewer characters you have to change the better.

If your DPS is Kaeya, the Cryo element reacts very well with Hydro (Frozen) and Pyro (Melted), so I would advise using Barbara and any other characters with those elements.

3.3. Characters

A Selfish DPS is the one that when casting his ult, you can't change it because you would cancel his ability. Like Razor or Xiao. For these DPS it is recommended to take Supports that generate damage passively and do not need to be on the battlefield.

You get Xiangling on the Abyss floor 3-3, and Collei on floor 4-3.

If you are not sure which Characters to Raise, I would raise characters that will help you build almost any team later (if you are lucky they have come out at the beginning) such as Bennett Support, Xiangling, Xingchiu and Fischl SubDPS (you must save Starshine to buy them or gain constellations in Gangas from Paimon), Mona, Keching, and Tighnari as DPS.

There are other characters that, although they are not top, can be used to overcome the beginning of the game, before obtaining those difficult 5* that you want. These are Yanfei and Diluc as DPS 5*, Beidu, and Colei, as Sub DPS, and Traveler Dendro, Jean, Diona, Sucarosa, Faruzan, and Yao Yao as Supports.

I initially rule out Kojou Sara, Kazuha, Gorou, Kuki as Sub DPS, and Sayu and Thoma as Support, not for anything special, just because their ascension materials will be out of your reach, as I explained above (3.1.). So if you have access to their Boosses area, you could add them to this list.

Special mention is Zhongli for being 5*, but I can't stop recommending him (like Kazuha, although I would rule him out until you have access to Inazuma).

3.4. Ascending your Characters

3.4.1. Character EXP (Copied from Fandom)

Characters use Character EXP to increase their level. It is mainly obtained by using Character EXP Materials. Killing enemies while exploring the open world gives a very small amount. Claiming ley line flowers from bosses also yields some of this EXP as well.

Character EXP gained from quests, defeating enemies, and claiming boss rewards is awarded to every member of your party, regardless of their participation. Dead party members will still receive Character EXP. Characters not in your active party will not receive Character EXP.

Using Character EXP Materials costs 1 Berry for every 5 character EXP points.

3.4.2. Where to Get EXP Books

  • Reward for increasing Adventure Rank (AR).
  • Reward for clearing levels in the Abyss.
  • Reward for opening chests.
  • Reward from many events and quests.
  • Reward for completing the Battle Pass.
  • Redeeming Masterless Stardust in the Paimon's Bergains. (I would make sure to save 750, for when it resets, I can buy 5 Intertwined Fates and 5 Acquaint Fate).
  • Reward for Ley Lines, in exchange for resin (so I don't advise it, it's better to spend resin on other things)
  • Buying them in the Realm Depot AR28 (La Realm Depot is the store that is located inside the inner world, in it you can exchange intramora for different objects depending on the section you access.), I also advise against it, it is preferable to spend intramora in Transient Resin, Sanctifying Essence or Sanctifying Unction.

Do not raise your characters to the MAXIMUM, this is for example, leave them at level 39 or 38, and not at 40 without promoting them, if you play with those characters in your team you will be losing the EXP that they give you for killing bugs (It is true that they do not give a lot of EXP, it is better not to waste anything if you are F2P). When you have the materials for their promotion, upload them to 40, and promote them.

3.4.3. Ascension

Collect all the materials that the enemies drop and everything that you find in your path. At first I would avoid using Teleport, in order to explore the map well.

The maximum level of your character will be limited by your AR, initially at level 20, being able to reach level 40 after reaching AR15 and passing Ascension Phase 1, for this you will need some stones that will drop certain Bosses, some Local Specialty, and some material that certain enemies will drop.

To get past levels 20, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80, you will need certain character-specific materials.

To locate these ascension materials, you can go to Characters / Attributes / Ascension Materials (Right Pad in Play), and select it (R3 in Play), it will tell you how and where to obtain it (In the case of Bosses and Enemies Material, If you select it again, the Adventurer's Manual will open, if you select "Follow" it will indicate its location on the map, so that it stops appearing as an objective on the map, you just have to select it on the map, and click " Cancel Navigation”).

I advise against trading Masterless Stardust for these materials.

Gems can be crafted at the Crafting Bench with other stones of the same material, or with other stones of other materials along with Azoth Dust (in Convert) (Can be purchased at the Paimon Bargain Shop for Masterless Stardust without Owner), hit the square you can change the stones to destroy.

I would like to remind you that when crafting, forging or cooking, sometimes you have the option to select one of your characters that gives you certain advantages, use it.

Local Specialties can be located with Hoyolab's interactive map.

https://act.hoyolab.com/ys/app/interactive-map/index.html

All this information can also be found on Fandom:

https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Ascension_Material

3.4.4. Talents

Talents are also limited by your AR level, and also by Character Attribute Level.

As I have already commented in the Resin Expenditure section, normally for a DPS, you have to raise the three talents, Normal Attack, Elemental and Ulti, and for the rest it is usually the Elemental and the Ulti, their talents to raise.

To ascend these talents you will need Character Talent Material, which is obtained from different Domains on certain days of the week, from certain Enhancement Material that you will obtain from some enemies, and from Level 6 of the Talent it will also ask you for other Enhancement Material that you will get them from a certain Weekly Boss.

The Improvement Material of the Weekly Bosses can also be crafted on the Alchemy Table, in Convert, being able to convert one material of the same Boss into another, along with a Dream Solvent (which the Weekly Bosses also usually give as rewards. These You can change materials with the Square (Play).

3.4.4.1. Weekly Bosses

You will get them as you progress in quest (see table), you will only be able to claim your reward once a week, restarting on Mondays.

Claiming the reward of the first three weekly Bosses cost 30 Primogems, the rest will cost you 60 Primogems.

At first I would try to beat all the weekly Bosses you have, since they will be the source of your best Artifacts, later I would only focus on the 3 Weekly Bosses that you need their materials the most.

You can complete all of them in Multiplayer Mode, except Stormterror.

The list of the Weekly Bosses and their requirements to get them:

3.4.5. World Level

I advise to level up the world as soon as you can, your rewards for killing Bosses and in Domains will increase (always select the highest level you can of the Domain).

It is true that the enemies will be stronger, and if you can't beat them, you always have the option to ask your friends for help, put “Help” in your signature so that someone can join you, or select “Find Players” when you enter in a domain.

3.5. Builds

To know which weapons and artifacts are best for each character, I use this page:

https://keqingmains.com/#search

But if you don't have the weapons they advise use this (Game8)

https://game8.co/games/Genshin-Impact/archives/297465

Select the Character in the Tier List, to access the information.

(I recommend that you review the Builds from one version of the game to another, since it is possible that they vary, due to new weapons and artifacts).

They advise you some Swords in order of importance, according to the Role of your Character. If you don't have any of them, you can find a larger list later in: “All Recommended Weapons for XXXXX”.

At first, do not look at the recommended SET of Artifacts, only its main Stats (the most important thing), and recommended Secondary Stats. The more and better the Secondary Stats the better the Artifact.

3.6. Weapons

3.6.1. Starting Weapons

The 3* Weapons that you should not despise are (Especially if you can refine it 5, they can become better than 4* weapons Refined 1): Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers and Magic Guide (Catalysts), Harbinger of Dawn and Fillet Blade (Swords), White Tassel and Halberd (Polearm), Debate Club and Skyrider Greatsword (Claymor), and Slingshot (Bow).

Weapons you would have to Forge: Iron Sting, Prototype Rancour and Amenoma Kageuchi (Swords), Prototype Amber (Catalyst), Prototype Starglitter (Polearm) and Whiteblind (Claymore).

3.6.2. Quality

Weapons range from 1 star to 5 star, the more stars the higher their base stats will be.

3.6.2. Where to Get Weapons

3.6.2.1. Exploration

  • Chests: Give 1 or 2 Star Weapons
  • Exquisite or better chests in Liyue (3 stars): At random you can get a Twin Nephrite, a Messenger, a Halberd, a Skyrider Greatsword, or a Fillet Blade.
  • Exquisite or better quality chests in Liyue and Sima (3 stars): Underground Mines: Randomly you can get a White Tassel.
  • Exquisite or better chests in Mondstadt (3 stars): At random you can get a Recurve Bow or a Otherworldly Story or a Traveler's Handy Sword.
  • Investigations points give Weapons 1 or 2 stars.
  • Blacksmith sells 1 or 2 star Weapons. I advise against it.
  • Some NPCs can give you 1 or 2 star weapons, even some 3 star ones.

3.6.2.2. Banners

  • In the Banners you will get 3* and 4* weapons. I advise against wishing on the Weapons Banner and the Permanent (only if you've dropped an Encounter of Fate).
  • In the Permanent Banner you can drop certain 5* weapons (only if you've dropped an Encounter of Fate).
  • In Paimon's Shop you can buy some weapons by spending Starshine. I advise against it (At least until you get all the good 4* C6 characters).

3.6.2.3. Battle Pass

Only if you have the money to spare, have a high AR, and have plenty of time to complete it, do they have very good weapons that boost critical Rate.

3.6.2.4. Forging

Certain 4* weapons can be forged with Weapon Prototypes, which are obtained, with any luck, by defeating Weekly Bosses. Another way to get prototypes:

3.6.2.5. Special events

In each version of the game they usually do this type of Events in which they usually give a Constellation of a Character, a Crown of Insight and/or a special Weapon.

3.6.2.6. Fishing Association

In each area there is a Fishing Association, which will each give you a Unique Weapon and its refinement, in exchange for certain fish.

3.6.3.7. Others

Some Archon Quest, and Legendary Quest, reward 3 and 4 star weapons.

3.6.3. Strengthen Weapons

To Strengthen weapons you will need Weapon Enhancement Materials or other weapons, I do not advise to burn 3* weapons to Strengthen a weapon. You get Refinement Ores by Forging Ores.

To locate these Minerals you can use Hoyolab's interactive map:

https://act.hoyolab.com/ys/app/interactive-map/index.html

I would like to point out that the forging of these materials has a daily cap, so early in the game I advise farming and forging every day.

When you reach the weapon at levels 20, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, you will need special materials for each weapon, these can be obtained from certain Domains, starting from AR16, and certain days of the week, other necessary materials They are obtained by defeating certain enemies.

3.6.4. Weapon Refinement

Another highlight in Weapons is Weapon Refinement. A weapon can be refined with another equal weapon, increasing its passive effect, and can be Refined up to five times (R5). Hence the importance of the 3* weapons mentioned above easily Refinable R5.

3.6.5. Weapons 5*

If you happen to get a 5* weapon for the second time, I'd really think about refining it, before I'd see if it's needed by two characters from your top two Abyss teams.

3.7. Artifacts

These Guides explain how the Artifacts work, and break down each of its parts.

This guides explain how work ever

Guide Artifacts https://www.hoyolab.com/article/1458336 (TunaCorn)

[Guide] Understanding Artifacts 101 - How to understand character builds without losing your head (ValtyrGwyn)

https://www.hoyolab.com/article/12073147

3.7.1 Artifacts before AR45

Don't spend resin on artifact domains up to AR45, at least. SAVE ALL THE MOONS UP TO AR45. Until then, use the Artifacts that drop from Bosses, Wandering Orchestra, Gladiator's Ending, or Ancient Ritual of Nobility. Turn them up to the max.

It's simple, with AR45 you will be able to fight in the last level of the artifact domains, which assures you a 5* artifact... For the same resin!!!! The wait is worth it.

There are 4* Artifacts that can be better than a 5* one for their main stat, do not discard those with Elemental Damage Bonus, Elemental Mastery, Energy Recharge, or with Rate and CRITICAL Damage, as the main stat.

3.7.2 Artifacts once reached AR45

I remind you that from AR45, you only claim artifacts at level 90 of the domains, since at this level you will always get at least one 5* artifact. If you can't defeat the enemies, ask a friend for help, or select the "Search Players" option when entering the Domain.

While it is true that Artifacts make a difference when it comes to dealing damage, you do NOT need to go crazy looking for the perfect artifact, it is a pipe dream, at least up to levels higher than ar55. And also don't shy away from making different kit combinations with good main stats, and good sub stats, much better than forcing 4 character artifacts, with bad main stats and sub stats. Keep in mind that it is better to spend resin on the characters and their weapons than on Artifacts. Artifact Domains are a bottomless pit that will swallow all your resin.

To be clearer, in order of importance they are: Primary Stat, Secondary Stats, Artifact Set (first 2 and then 4, if applicable).

It is ADVISABLE to have the SET that they recommend for each character, but NOT MANDATORY, you can do more than decent damage with Artifacts only with Good Primary and Secondary Stats.

Another good tip is to use the 5*, level 0 Artifacts you don't want (along with 2 others) on the Crafting/Make Offering Table: Reliquary: to get a 5* SET Artifact you want .

3.7.3. Initial Resin Investment in Artifacts (starting at AR45)

The number of Good Secondary Estadistics is understood by the number of Recommended Secondary Stats, in the initial artifact, as well as the number of ascensions that affect them.

This is if an artifact initially has 3 Secondary Stats, and one is recommended, its score will be 1. If when promoting it (level 4) a fourth recommended stat is obtained, it will be worth 2, if promoting it again (Level 8) raises one non-recommended secondary stat, it will still be worth 2. And so on.

Thus, a maximum artifact will have a value of 9, 4 initials plus 5 ascensions. and the 5 Artifacts would add up to a maximum of 45.

3.8. Critical Rate and Critical Damage

To get decent damage on a DPS or SubDPS character, you want to aim for a balanced 1:2 ratio between these two stats. This means having twice as much Critical Damage as Chance.

Whether it's with the weapon, artifacts, or including two Cryo characters in your team (Increases Critical Chance against Cryo-affected or frozen enemies by 15%).

To start with, it wouldn't be bad to have 50 Chance and 100 Damage... and then gradually increase it. (You'll start to notice it from 60% Chance and 120 Damage.

4. Rotations

Learning to do Rotations is essential to increase your damage, whether you are AR20 or ***0.

By using your characters' elementals, you will get orbs that increase the cooldown of your characters' ults.

The recharge time of their skills depends on the level to which you have raised the Talents of said Skills, the higher the level, the shorter the Recharge time.

In general, for a good rotation you would have to see how long it takes to charge the elemental of each character. In order to know more or less when and how many times you have to rotate the Characters.

For example, in a team made up of Yoimiya DPS, Xingqiu and Kazuha as Sub DPS and Bennett as Support, we will have the recharge time of the elementals (TdE) be:

Kazuha and Bennet would go into rotation more than any other character, assuming all characters start their Elental and Ultis cooldown from 0, the rotation would be as follows:

1. Kazuha and Bennett, would enter twice, to use his elementals

2. Xingquiu would use his elemental

3. Kazuha and Bennett to cast their Ultis

4. Xingqiu Ulti

5. To finish with Yoimiya's Ulti and Elemental, who would stay in battle until his elemental runs out (10 seconds), for a reason it's the DPS.

6. Kazuha and Bennett to cast their elementals once, and return to point 2

The DPS should be the last to enter rotation, in order to boost its damage.

5. What do I do now, where do I continue, how do I spend my time in the game?

There are many tasks to do, and I understand that so much information can make you dizzy, so here is a Task Guide in order of priority.

https://www.hoyolab.com/article/20564842?create=1

I hope it helps you. <3
